In Hin Lek Fai the rain began dumping down hard at precisely 2:00am, with a couple of loud thunder cracks directly overhead. It tapered down after about 20 minutes, and then I fell asleep, so I don’t know when it finally stopped altogether.

Sorry guys, it's my fault.

Spent most of yesterday mowing the lawns. Around 5pm I turned on all the sprinkers and between then and 11pm I moved them around to make sure the whole garden got a good soaking.

3am and it chucked it down!!

In 106 we got a shortish shower around 11:30 pm last night and then some heavier rain that woke me around 2 am this morning. I also fell asleep again before it finished.

There’s a fairly strong persistent wind this morning - we had a little bit of rain during the night and early this morning but nothing much, the wind though is making it feel a bit cooler which is always welcome.

Indeed, it's bliss!

No rain recorded by Soi 51 Station

I just hope the rain the stays away this afternoon.

It can rain after my golf! Image

I can’t remember it being this cool in April before, obviously caused by the strong winds - 22° is a lot lower than normal.

April is supposed to be the hottest month of the year here with average temps around 32+

But we've had excessive rain in February and other strange unseasonal weather so par for the course I guess.

Thailand weather is under the influence of a huge high pressure area over China, resulting in north east winds. There are still many parts of China showing snow, so the wind is cool, rather than just strong.

This in the "normal" winter pattern, but why it is so late is not really clear, just another part of "climate change" I suppose, the same as the un-seasonal rains.

We are now past the equinox and very soon we will probably be complaining how hot it is!

I went out onto the veranda for my morning coffee and had to go inside. I think I’ve turned into a big weenie since moving to Thailand. I don’t know what the actual temp is, but it was a bit too cool and windy for me in shorts and a t-shirt.

It's 22 degrees and it's actually raining as I write this but you probably wouldn't even notice it
