Has anyone found any hotels in Hua Hin that are offering this fifth day stay with PCR test that you can book in advance to get the Thailand pass?
I've searched around on the net but have yet to find one that is specifically offering a booking for that.
There are some that include PCR but quite expensive. e.g.:
There are around 70 SHA+ hotels in HH for '5th day stay'. I think one of the cheaper ones is 'My Way' coming in at around 1200 baht. The majority expect you to arrange your own PCR
I may be a million miles off here, but I thought I'd read the 'day 5' hotel had to be partnered to the 'day 1' hotel. So isn't it up to hotel 1 to find hotel 2? Or is that a bit too joined up for Thailand?
I would be amazed if this day 1 and day 5 routine lasts a month. They foresee nothing, but once they experience the monumental confusion and rule infractions this will cause, they'll scrap it...IMO.

This means the following should be prepared:
- Proof of hotel booking for Day 1 and Day 5 (The hotels can be different hotels but must provide an accommodation service in partnership with certified hospitals for the RT-PCR test according to SHA ++/AQQ/ AHQ).
- A Confirmed Payment for SHA++ Hotel and pre-payment of 2 RT-PCR tests
- A Certificate of Vaccination / Vaccine passport

Providing Covid cases remain stable or falling, I’d agree that the day 5 will be dropped or watered down to like it was before - just an antigen test done yourself, no hospital stay required.
Well the LHG has given up on visiting Thailand at this time - she's more worried about getting out of China and back into the UK after the "reported numbers" for Covid cases in Beijing - just days before the Winter Olympics officially kicks-off. She struggled to get her flight for the 14th, but I have some major concerns after crackdowns in other cities.

If their Covid-19 insurance coverage was limited, visitors found to be infected would still have to meet all costs themselves for their uninsured treatment at hospitals or quarantine hotels, and for disease control responses for high-risk contacts
Which seems a little at odds with the requirement to be fully insured. But to my eyes, it reads that you could have financial reposonsibility for 3rd parties.

Thanks, that's the first one I've seen that's offering a package with the test.
It seems a bit of a waste of money but flights are cheap in February so I might come back again. I don't mind the first night hotel so much as you can get a rest after the flight but I don't really see the point of this fifth night when you've got a house down the road.
I recently flew into Thailand after having a negative pcr test at Heathrow and on my insistence another one in dubai as I stopped there for 2 days.
On arrival in Bangkok I was taken by minibus first to a local hospital for another pcr test then back to my one night quarantine Hotel.
Result, positive covid test.
Next day I was taken by ambulance to a very run down hotel (vismaya hotel), this 600bht a night hotel turns out one I have stayed before.
I stayed there confined to room for 5 nights then allowed to resume my journey to hua him,
The cost for nothing more than a room and 3 meals a day served in plastic takeaway container totaled 116,336thb.
Get this 59,400 for medical supplies!.
My travel insurance I took out was useless and fortunately I remembered I had the barclays travel pack who came to my aid and notified me yesterday the costs would be paid into my account this week.
So I'm curious if anyone else has experienced the downside of test and go?
You could write volumes about what is posted above ^. Primarily about the strong chance in some cases that the program is being abused for personal gain by a variety of officials. I am confused about the portion: "I stayed there confined to room for 5 nights then allowed to resume my journey to hua him,"..... Isn't the minimum stay for those testing positive 10 days?
I think good advice for upcoming travelers to here is to pack a dozen ATK tests into your luggage and test yourself privately if you should receive a positive test upon arrival and doubt the accuracy based about prior tests you may have had enroute that had a negative result.
What you do if your private test says negative when the Thai arrival test says positive is to find someone who will listen to you, and that may be difficult if the hotel and others are in a possible money making scam together. If no one listens, go public on social media with photos of your negative test(s) and your story.

I think that if it was me my next stop would be a lawyer, Utter BS to be treated like this.
All very well for you if your insurance pays for it, but the the next sucker may not have insurance.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
The program is rife for abuse if certain groups are so inclined. Easy to manage a person into hotel confinement at a cost he has no control over, with no actual proof given to him that he tested positive. Guards everywhere preventing him from going anywhere, even outside of his hotel room door, and I doubt any chance of next day follow up testing to confirm the first positive result.
It's an easy scam and I'm surprised we're not hearing about it happening more.
