A good Indian curry

Does anyone know anywhere where one could obtain a nice Indian curry? I could murder a madras with a nice bit of naan bread, some popadoms, some delicious mango chutney and all the other stuff that goes with it. I'd actually kill for it!

I've always been pleased with the one next to the Armadeus Restaurant. Quite reasonably priced too. Had many a take-away from there. If it's not on the menu, ask as they will try to make whatever you want.

Go along the Hilton Road (going north) past the Hilton, follow the road round to the left and you'll see it on your right. For the life of me I cant bring the name to mind. I think it might be the Taj Mahal.

As far as I know there are only two Indian restaurants in HH and I was disappointed with both.

The one mentioned here screwed the orders up and took forever to serve it and the big one is seriously over priced with dwarf sized portions.

What HH needs is a quality Indian takeaway, and a few less tailors!

Definitely get rid of the tailors.. portions are somewhat subjective. The thing is in this heat (ok so not so much of that lately but you get my drift) you need small meals often rather than the more traditional big British dinner. That's my 20p worth anyway..

It's the big one I mean. Not the one on the way to the Chinese temple. I may have got the name mixed up. The small one serves food ready for the bin but the I've never had a problem with the big one. Had lots of take-aways there. As for price, can anyone remember the price in the UK? It's certainly cheaper here.

Does it get on my tits when people keep comparing prices to the west ... does an expat working in HH earn a UK salary? do the Thais? do the people working in the restaurant? Its all relative and should be compared as such.

Go to the 'moon smile and platoo' (opposite la grappa) It has to be that particular one, no other will do. Purloin a seat or two. Ask for a - Guy patpong gallie, also some rice and garlic bread. Ask for it as hot as you like. I promise you wont be dissapointed. If you are i'll pay for it, can't say fairer than that!!!!

Maharaja down from the Hilton is good, you sometimes get a few things you never asked for but in general food was excellent any time i've been there

for some strange reason i've only had carry outs from there probally due to having a 4 year old so dont know whats it like to sit in teh place for a meal

All too easy to compare prices with European prices

As for an curry--- no idea!!! Anywhere that dishes up Bombay duck has to be worth it. UK ban on it now

I'll stick to my Masaman at JW's until I hear good reports
