Vaccines - Covid 19
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
I just got a phone call from HHH that I could get a jab of Sinovac tomorrow. My number does not show in the list and also on https://www.huahinhospital.go.th/check_vaccineeng.php I get still a red message. I declined, because I want to go to Europe next year and Sinovac is not accepted there.

On registration I recieved confirmation on 17th July from Medpark Hospital Bangkok ( less than 2 hours HH to BKK) confirming vaccine for 12th Aug, (today) arrived in and out 50 minutes job done, I was given a choice Astra Zeneca or Pfizer, I chose Pfizer, second jag in 3 weeks.
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
All my hope is now at https://expatvac.consular.go.th/, where I registered and got a confirmation Email. Did anybody get a vaccination date from them?
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
I registered at same site, as did 2 other family members. No word yet on a vaccination date. Earlier news reports about this site indicated notifications would / could start on August 10th and/or 11th.pitsch wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 8:49 pm All my hope is now at https://expatvac.consular.go.th/, where I registered and got a confirmation Email. What was the cost of the vaccine, if any?Highflyer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 8:42 pm On registration I recieved confirmation on 17th July from Medpark Hospital Bangkok ( less than 2 hours HH to BKK) confirming vaccine for 12th Aug, (today) arrived in and out 50 minutes job done, I was given a choice Astra Zeneca or Pfizer, I chose Pfizer, second jag in 3 weeks.
I also had an appointment but choose to do the HHH on 6 July , so it looks like I made a mistake!

Hua Hin sets vaccine target for tourism
In a bid to reopen its tourism industry, Hua Hin has set the goal of having at least 70% of its local population and 100% of its tourism sector workers inoculated against Covid-19.
Krot Rotchanasathian, head of the Hua Hin Recharge project, said up to 90% of the people involved in tourism and service businesses in the district have already been vaccinated.
Mr Krot said that more than 30% of the area's general population have been given Covid-19 shots.
If Hua Hin can receive tourists from October as planned, the district can expect about 100,000 visitors and more than 1.2 billion baht in tourism-related revenue by the year's end, he said.
Run by local tourism business operators, Hua Hin Recharge has been working with state organisations, hospitals, local health authorities and tourism associations in Hua Hin to speed up vaccinations, he added.
Foreign tourists who visit Hua Hin after reopening will be required to follow the same standards set under the Phuket Sandbox programme, said Itsara Sathapanaset, head of Tourism Authority of Thailand's Prachuap Khiri Khan Office.
The rules include full Covid-19 vaccination and negative Covid-19 testing results prior to departure for Thailand and a 14-day stay in Hua Hin before travelling to other destinations in Thailand, he said.
During the 14-day stay, these visitors will be required to undergo two Covid-19 tests, he said.

More pie in the sky numbers. I would imagine the 90% of people involved in tourism have already returned to their provinces.

They could be sitting in a large queue now and so an update post would be a welcome distraction!

Judging by the post by Pitsch earlier, they're actively trying to use up the vaccine today.thecolonel wrote:Keen to hear any reports from anyone who has gone along to this, this morninghhinner wrote:The Friday walk-in time has been modified. Interesting article in Thai Enquirer today reporting on Big Pharmas role. A melted down version is that BP are reluctant to forego their patent rights when countries like South Korea, India and South Africa have the capacity to generate billions of generic versions.

From Buksi's BP article:
Phuket is an island with one way in and one way out (by land)
Hua Hin is not an island (for those who didn't know!) with dozens of ways in and out in all directions.

Was thinking that also, it is absolutely impossible to control the movement of people to/from HH.

The artist formerly known as Mrs D-M has been at HHHosp since the crack of dawn. She's 45 with no underlying conditions. I'll let you know how she gets on.

I had to go to the eye clinic this morning, and people making their way to floors 7/8 was manic. I had quite a queue to get into the main car park, and I could see the freebie car parks were full. Also road parking leading to the hospital was very busy.thecolonel wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 8:22 am Keen to hear any reports from anyone who has gone along to this, this morning
After my eye appointment, I had to run the gauntlet of a jobsworth security guard who tried to stop me getting the lift to the 6th floor because floors 7 and 8 were for Thais only. It was a case of size matters as I leaned into the lift and didn't budge.
Basically, I can say today's walk-in was very well supported
