Vaccines - Covid 19
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Because maybe they didn't even order as much AZ as they said they did when they admitted they didn't order enough.

Vaccinations for Aussies. I only saw this reposted on Facebook today.
Perhaps there will be future sessions.

... and British citizens in Thailand can go swivel.
Edit: Ah, just read back through some posts. Seems UK citizens are also being offered this route on the 18th (today for you guys). I jumped the gun with my criticism.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
It seems like there is a 24 hr. window between the announcement and the vaccine appts. for US citizens and they don't say how many doses are available or how to contact the facility to register. Maybe I'm not seeing everything but it seems like it's not well thought out.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
In clicking on the HHH website link for covid injections, there is a choice of Thai or English. Comparing the two, there is obviously twice as much info in Thai as in English including the number 11,577 which does not appear in the English version of this page. Anybody care to share why there is this difference and what it means? Also, can we get reports from people who are getting vaccinated. What is it like? What hassles if any are we to expect? My number is in the 9,000 range. Maybe later this month? Finally, is the sinovac vaccine worth anything at all? Thanks

Maybe it has psychological value and maintains it's efficacy for 6 months or less.
There are a multitude of articles, pro and con about Sinovac and I think, at the end of the day, you have to go with your feelings.
Statistically you can prove and disprove anything.

The HHH website says that there are 11577 in the queue, but currently vaccine is only available up to 7396
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Bangkok Post has now picked up the story about why there is not enough AZ vaccine.
I guess that AZ has had enough of A & P blaming it for the shortfall. The leaked (by who I wonder?) letter shows Thailand only ordered 25m doses in January and then it was only in May that it ordered another 35m doses. In September last year Thailand told AZ that 3m doses per month would be enough.

The issue with these embassy vaccine incentives is that you have to travel into the red zone hell of Bangkok (where they're telling you not to go) to get them. Think I'd rather wait (though being a Brit, I don't think there will be a choice).

From the Foreign Ministry Spokesman:
Quote
The Thai Govt’s committed to ensuring access to COVID-19 vaccines for all foreigners residing in Thailand. MFA, in coop w/ MOPH, will open this month an online platform for the registration of expats wishing to be vaccinated, the details of which will be announced in due course.

Seems the Thai Foreign Ministry may be getting frustrated with handling all the embassies’ enquiries about vaccination registration. Watch this space….

You're all so cynical!
What happened to those posters from years ago who used to say we were guests in Thailand and shouldn't complain?
