Wow. These situation reports are getting earlier and earlier. Do you have the figures for tomorrow, Joelle? And while you're about it, who wins the 3:30 at Nottingham tomorrow?

So the plan is to vaccinate Hua Hin to enable tourists to visit.

Should this happen will the powers that be include the large non-Thai population of the area. No mention made in the article however that comes as no surprise.

But on the other hand, not mentioning it could simply be because the plan is to inoculate residents, irrespective of nationality?

As I've said before. They really haven't thought this through. The only way it can work in both HH and Phuket is to create 2 massive 'bubbles'. Once in the 'bubble', you would be locked in and nobody from outside the 'bubble' would be allowed to enter.

Common sense really is low demand here, but I guess we knew that.

It's just a proposal awaiting approval. It's rubbish really, isn't it.

Isn't that exactly what Phuket are doing at the moment? They have basically locked the island for the next few weeks. If Hua Hin is to follow the same plan, I guess they will do the same here.

Big problem being, of course, the 'hostesses' that the sex tourists will be coming to see, are currently residing on family farms in Isaan, and won't be allowed in to service the tourists.

Islands like Phuket or Koh Samui are a lot easier to “ring-fence” and keep out only those that are approved, whereas inland locations like Hua Hin are almost impossible to isolate - even with barbed wire military checkpoints they’d still never secure the place completely!!

It sounds like more pie in the sky to me. It was the Bangkokians coming to party in HH that kick-started the third wave, and they will be a major threat again as they seem to be able to do what they like unrestricted. HH will not be safe until Bangkok is vaccinated.

Of course, that was said tongue in cheek. PKK is on the corridor North and South. To put it in a bubble would create 2 countries (maybe the South would like that  )

I don't think Mr Krod(as reported in the Bangkok Post article above) understands the concept of herd immunity. A small sub-unit (Hua Hin) of the herd (Thailand, SEA, Asia ??) won't do it.

Vaccinating 70% of your little herd may be enough for short-term limited "herd immunity", but maybe not. With the original SARS-CoV2 it may have been enough but for the more infectious Indian variant(s) probably not. Only vaccinating 70% of your population means that you don't need to vaccinate any foreigners though .

Emergency allocation of vaccine for Hua Hin? I don't think HH is regarded as being so special by other parts of Thailand which also want the vaccines.

Cha-Am is basically the same conurbation as Hua Hin. How could it be left out? Pranburi? Tha Yang? Phetchburi? Where's the border? How is it enforced?

Vaccine? Still a mythical substance.

1 June? Two weeks away.

Laugh or cry? Better to just shrug the shoulders and accept that things will happen when they happen.

New cases information seems to be drying up. I know it is +7 for Hua Hin, and there is one other PKK case in a location I can't identify yet. To produce today's chart, I have added to mystery case to Prachuap. I will adjust when/if accurate information is promulgated.
