Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap
Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
As far I understood the rules, for the Prachuab Khiri Khan, bars, pubs, karaoke places, must close till 6th of January. And from today, it is not allowed to sell alcohol in restaurants
Re: Coronavirus Precautions/Updates - Hua Hin
As we're in the RED zone from today, I guess ALL bars will now be closed. I believe the governors can increase the restrictions but not negate the minimum set by the CCSA.

Afaik.... originally they had to shut, up to and including 6th Jan ( reopen on 7th )Sj65 wrote:As far I understood the rules, for the Prachuab Khiri Khan, bars, pubs, karaoke places, must close till 6th of January. And from today, it is not allowed to sell alcohol in restaurants
but around 6pm last night that was extended by 1 week to the 14th at the earliest (I assume by the local Governor of PKK)
If I was a betting man I would say they won't reopen in the month of January, but that's just my speculative opinion

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Hua HIN has a new COVID 19 case with a Thai lady aged 61 yrs
I understand that a lot of information is on some media outlet HUA HIn News , but what I hear from my wife is:
She lives in Hua Hin off canal road where there is a large market. She returned from Bangkok on 24th Dec via Petchaburi and back in Hua Hin 25th. She went to Big C and Market Village on 2 days and eat out each evening. She went to the fish market every day until yesterday. She was told by a friend whom she had been staying with in Bangkok that he had caught Covid on 2nd Jan so she went to check up at Hua Hin Hospital and was told she had Covid either late that evening or yesterday. So she could be a big spreader of the virus?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
The timeline a couple of posts above does differ a bit from the Thai version on the official fb page, especially the time in market village. The Thai version has it as 17.00 - 19.30.
Only important really if an outbreak starts there.

Under the new rules you are not allowed to cross travel between provinces unless it is absolutely necessary

MODS
let's face it, in the light of recent developments these two CV threads are now the same
What's the difference between news and updates?
Should they be merged, save us flicking between the two? Some 'news' is on one thread and some the other
Just a thought

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin
The primary News thread is for Thailand and general global Covid news - which has a huge scope and doesn't need posts like "Is Boom Bar still open" cluttering it up.thecolonel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:01 am MODS

This one is specific to Hua Hin, (which is the basis of this forum) and can be used to ask specific Hua Hin related questions on local restrictions, closures, travel, and outbreaks.
So yes, there is a definite need for two separate threads and we'll move posts as we see fit. Hope this clarifies things.

Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin
I’m sure I must be one of hundreds if not thousands who have recently travelled from CA to HH (yesterday for me) - technically they are two different provinces but in practice almost one. As mentioned on an earlier post yesterday, the checkpoint near Makro was not manned so not sure whether we would have been turned around, but I suspect not.
