So I wonder does 'social distancing' only work on Thursdays. Sateeb pointed out that today it was quite busy and plenty of people sat outside 'side by side'.
Never underestimate the Thai love affair with paperwork/official documents as it is burned into their psyche as a badge of face/status/position/entitlement to anything or, of course, the lack thereof. Even in a situation such as this now they can't let it go ... in their DNA and make people line up with how many required documents just to allow their existence here for a little longer.
It is at the core and root of all the complaints by everyone that is not Thai that fails to understand how ordered, unforgiving and regimented Thai culture/society really is. It could also be argued that it is a contributing factor as to how Thailand is one of the most unequal countries on earth.
Back to my post comparing this with what's happening in the States:
After checking, she can apply online to USCIS and she will get a 240 day extension based upon extreme situation. Covid19 has already been accepted in that category.
She did that today. Had to pay a few dollars but got the document back in a couple of hours extending her stay for 240 days.
Cambodia announced yesterday that everyone entering the country on a tourist visa after 1 January and unable to leave the country will receive automatic visa renewal until their departure without having to go anywhere or do anything and no overstay fees will be levied.
