I know this is about Europe, but can anyone envisage it happening in this part of the world?

The village mechanics would find a way to circumvent it.

Which is what I’m sure will happen in Europe, by those that will always flout the law.
Re: Speed Limiters in Vehicles
It does state that you can switch it off, either temporarily in order to overtake or for the trip. It then goes on to say that whether switched off or not, when a vehicle is involved in a road accident, the 'black box recorder' (not a tachograph but more akin to an aircraft recorder) will be witness.
Re: Speed Limiters in Vehicles
It's so easy to get speeding tickets in Europe now, with cameras everywhere and ever changing limits, that many people I've spoken with welcome this as a way of saving money and your license.
Re: Speed Limiters in Vehicles
I wonder how this will work in Germany where more than 50% of roads have no speed limit.
