July-Oct is regarded as the rainy season, but I wouldn't let that put either of you off. We get very little rain here in HH and that that does come is usually in the afternoons and refreshing.
It'll be hot and humid.
Having siad that, it's just been pouring here now, with a big thunderstorm - unusual for March. The country's semi-tropical, so the weather can do wierd things.

Thunderstorm lasted 5 minutes if that but it may be back later?
As a rule guys even during the rainy season the rains don't last for long
Personnally I prefer the rainy season to the so called winter period and the extremly hot period ( late March until mid May)

We have just had this years first rainfall.
Pouring down, thunder and lightning, we're back to normal state.
A little bit here and a little bit there.
As long long as the roof is watertight; it's a pleasure with all this water.
As lomu says, monsoon time used to be from April to June/July, but these days you'll never know.

I intend to live forever - so far so good.
You must have been in the wrong/right place in January. My garden (until the 10 mins downpour tonight) hasn't seen rain since September.
For Bronzom and Rob C, September and October (especially October) is usually the wettest months of the year with rain dying off in November. That said, last year what appeared to be a perfectly normal rainy season was cut short 2 months early. My water bills (big garden) have been 7 times that when it's raining. July is usually okay and as has been said only has short bursts of rain and has been known to be a dry month.
As you may be realising, whatever is the forecast, it can change to the opposite. Whatever the weather, you'll still have a great time. TIT

I was sat in my garden in Takiab watching the lightning over towards Burma for about an hour before going out.
It rained in January in Hua Hin.

When it does rain, it can be chucking it down in Hua Hin, and not a cloud in the sky in Cha-Am, brilliant sunshine, then 15 minutes later the reverse happens.
