Free airplane ride - Hua Hin area!
Free airplane ride - Hua Hin area!
I have a small 2-seater airplane (zenair ch701) based at a grass airstrip near Cha-am. I fly about 3 times per week. I am not a daredevil at all, just fly low and slow and look around the local areal. Anyone interested in going sometime? Great photo platform! PM me for details.
Mdeland, I’m an aircraft engineer, I know that Zenair you have is normally a kit aircraft, did you build the thing yourself in Thailand? I would be interested in having a look at it sometime if it’s OK with you; I will be back in the area in a few weeks.
I’m working on 747’s at Luxembourg airport at the moment and there are a few Zenair’s based here.

2005 Zenair CH701sp - It was built by the factory and shipped over here to Thailand. They really did a great job assembling it and fitting all the instruments. I've flown it about 140 hours from Kanchanaburi to Rayong to Krabi to Khao Yai. Locally, I often go up above Kaeng Krachan National Park over the reservoir and into the mountains. Also, a lot just around Phetburi - Chaam area or across the bay to Chonburi. Contact me when you get back or PM me now so I have your e-mail.

Lomu,
Not sure if they'll do static line, they might if you agree to do the relevant training, but if a tandem jump would do, pm me. I did my tandem with the Royal Thai Police & as far as I know, they'll still take the odd paying client.
Did mine from 9,000 ft above Hua Hin/Cha Am - freefall for 45 seconds, the whole lot. A truly amazing experience.

The freefall was because I did a tandem (strapped to an instructor who did all the work!) I'd be too scared to do a static line, even though it's usually from about half the height.lomuamart wrote:mdeland & Dawn,
Message received and understood. Probaby a bit of bravado on my part last night.
I'd still be interested in doing it though. I appreciate some training would be necessary, but I only want to do a static line - not free fall yet.
And maybe that's bravado again?

Many years ago when I had a pilots licence I bought a pin at Farnborough which I still have today with a motto which says:mdeland wrote:I have a small 2-seater airplane (zenair ch701) based at a grass airstrip near Cha-am. I may be old fashioned, and I may be being unfair (as I'm unfamiliar with the aircraft mentioned), but low and slow is daredevil stuff to me.Help stamp out old age, fly low and slow
I'd be interested in a flight

there is more chance of a car accident, crossing the road or being on a plane, train or bus than Skydiving
When your time has come then go with with it
