Following various recent legal actions on copyright infringement I was having a look at the terms and conditions for the forum and could not see any anything specifically covering this area (although with my advancing years I could easily have missed it).
It has become common practice on many forums to quote from other publications, this can very easily cause problems with regard to copyright infringement.
I have noticed on some forums that it has become common practice to add a suitable reference, including URL if appropriate, to the source of any quote and for the quote itself to be put in a quote box.
Some reference in the “Terms of Usage and Conditions of Serviceâ€
Protection against copyright infringement
Most of the news and articles posted on here do quote and link to the source. Most media operations usually only object when another copies their content and blatantly claims it to be their own giving no credit whatsoever to the original publisher.
HHAD is covered by this statement:
" 11. You agree not to hold HHAD or its members liable for anything stated within the forums. "

Sorry Lev, on rereading my original post it is a little ambiguous and can be misunderstood; I am actually more worried about possible actions being taken against HHAD, not myself.Lev wrote:Most of the news and articles posted on here do quote and link to the source. Legal actions that I have seen recently invariably appear to be taken against internet sites not the individuals that post on them.
Internet law is still very much in development but, from what I understand, the law that any site is subject to is principally dependant on where the server for the site is located (I do not know where your server is located).
As someone who spends about half of each year in Thailand and is considering settling in the HH area I find HHAD is an invaluable source of information about Hua Hin and the surrounding area and I would not like to see its future prejudiced.
I would worry more about government censorship here than copyright issues, that is currently the only thing that could jeopardize this websites future.JimboPSM wrote: As someone who spends about half of each year in Thailand and is considering settling in the HH area I find HHAD is an invaluable source of information about Hua Hin and the surrounding area and I would not like to see its future prejudiced.
