The temperature has dropped by 20 degrees in the last 10 minutes and the wind is blowing the oysters off the rocks. Looks and feels like some sort of storm is about to hit. Feel for the Polo organisers at the Intercontinental.

Dry as a bone on the eastern south coast....but I keep hoping! Skies are dark northeast, but not that dark. Pete

Satellite from an hour and a half ago. Look ominous but it's deceptive. No where near the cover over me yet that the photo indicates. Pete

Not a drop here or us either and it looks like most of it has passed. Whereas 45km away Pattaya is under a flood watch. Seems 3rd road there is already flooded. Pete

Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Post by hhinner »

Been raining for nearly an hour in Samor Phrong. Power went out while we were at G supermarket on Chomsin just after 4 pm and has just come back on about 15 minutes ago (7.40) here in Samor Phrong. Interesting that in G supermarket all the lights went out and customers were wandering around using torch app on phones but the cashiers were able to continue working. POS system on UPS I suppose.

It's good to see some rain but not so good that as usual the power goes after about twenty minutes of it. It has been like this for twenty years here in Roowamsook and is unlikely to change. The candles and torches (flashlights for those from across the pond) are always at the ready and now enjoying a peaceful evening sat under the porch. Thankfully things have moved forward with mobile internet and power packs for the phone.

There was an explosion near my house at around 15:30 before the rain which put out the power. Retired to a local restaurant after which the heavens opened and the restaurant was also in the dark. At a friend's house now as the power is still down in Hua Na. I guess that by the time it's fixed a few thousand baht worth of food in my freezer will have been spoiled..

Nice to get the rain and the cooler weather but not the consequences.
