I forgot to include the link I was looking at. It's Weather Underground. The wind chart is along the bottom of the 10 day forecast chart. Pete

Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Post by hhinner »

It seems to me that it's been windy every day so far this year. From morning until evening, when the wind drops. I go for a bike ride every morning about 10.30 and it's always quite windy, such that I pick a route with the outbound half into the wind and the return journey with it. I don't recall previous years being so windy every day. El Nino maybe? Of course end of March is kite season so there will normally be some wind now. Very gusty right now.

I find the evenings still pleasantly cool as well, which seems to be quite late into the year.

Actually, if we believe the experts, the trade winds weaken during El Nino.

Some links to a few websires, but it is a very complex subject.

Well we're pretty much inland here in Nakhon Pathom, and we've had a lovely breeze for weeks. Mr.VS complains about it when he cycles back from the university. Just been sitting outside in the breeze and it's a good 10 degrees cooler than inside.

I just had a look on Weather Underground at the weather history for Hua Hin airport for 2014 - 2016, Jan - Mar. Seems the winds are pretty similar over the 3 years, except perhaps for direction. So maybe my memory is faulty. But it sure feels windier this year when on the bike.

I see that the wind has swung round and is coming from the north, and the air in HH has taken on a much murkier appearance today.

We love a windy day in the Winter, where I live, if it blows from the west it will be a warm
wind, called a Chinook. A great natural way that us Calgarians get to enjoy winter in this part
of Alberta. We are not so fond of getting the storms that bring snow and colder air though.
The actor Leo DiCaprio , said that our Chinooks this Winter ,was to do with Global warming, which makes me wonder what he was talking about. I think it is better to just call a Chinook , a Chinook. This is my opinion of course.
I hope you folks in, Hua Hin get a nice Spring time. I was there a year or so ago and it was
very hot and not very windy during March and April. I was actually happy to go home and
enjoy the Canadian Spring, with the temperatures around 10 to 16c.

Passed over and gone to Burma. Another few weeks I think until we get some. I love waiting for the first rains. Something you would never hear me say in the UK...555!

Lately, I've been walking the beach regularly and I reckon it's the hottest day of the year today - so far. It was baking down there earlier.

Proper rains didn't come until July last year. We shouldn't hold our breathe.

Stargeezer,i remember way back when a chinook blew in it could raise the temperature from minus 40 to plus 20 in a few hours, talk about hot!!When the sun started to go down most of my clothes were hanging on a fence somewhere.
When i think about winter now i start to shiver already,i decided a while ago it is better to sweat then to shiver.
Days like today i stay inside mostly during the afternoon but after 5 o'clock or so it started to cool off a little bit so i could do some work in the garden.

I don't know if this is absolute BS, but I've checked the date and it's not 1st April :D

A source that can't be substantiated, but I consider reliable has said that clouds have been seeded from Kuiburi to Bangkok today, and many of us us will receive rain this afternoon.

Just wait and see I guess.

There was a shower of rain where I am in Bangkok about 11-00 am this morning. Very over cast right now, but hard to tell if the clouds are rain bearing, or just pollution! It certainly looks like there may be some more rain in them.
