Vintage car rally at the Sofitel
Vintage car rally at the Sofitel
This is starting today and running until the 18th I think. Just cycled past a whole bunch of classic motors heading south on Petchkasem, they'll be based at the Sofitel so get down there if you're into old wagons!

Sofitel have been approached By HHAD with offers to promote their regular events which are to say the least very poorly promoted
The answer was no we have our own methods of promotion set by Accor
HHAD could help make many of their events a success rather than the regular flops by putting such invents in front of 40,000 plus HHAD visitors per month who will be or are already in Hua Hin when these events occur.
As stated by regular posters “no one seemed to know. There looks to be as much planning here as the bike week!!!!â€

I saw the parade of cars by accident, there must have been 30 or 40 cars.
Some beautiful old Mercs, one was same model as Hitler used to plough around in! Lovely mark1 Stingray convertable, Morgan, 2 really nice E types, couple of late 60's Alfa Romeos, Hillman Hunter (i think), Austin Standard, Merc 350 gullwing (stunning).
As has been said crapply promoted, only saw the cars cause they blocked the road.

Not at all a dig at the Observer, Mr. Wanderlust the comment was regarding the fact the internet is infinite & immediate where as any print media is limited to the size of the print run and the quality of distribution, many of the local print media promise but don’t deliver the goods
No mention of the Observer was ever made; in fact the Observer has improved immensely over the past few years and continues to do so to all the teams credit …Other wise we wouldnt have a full page in there !
Are we a little hung over and touchy after yesterday’s festivities?

Thanks for the photos. I didn't realise that things such as classic car rallys even took place in Thailand - excellent.

Don't get so tetchy Wander, you'll get used to being married soon enough!
The Dr's dig was at the Sofitel PR department that have obviously got their heads up their arses when it comes to promoting local events.

Thank you, quite an eye opener. I had a good look at the photos and note that most of the riders/viewers were Thai. I'm obviously a bit naive, but I just never associated Thais with caring for such machines - I've always assumed all machines were sort of throwaway in the eyes of the average Thai person.had a day out in BKK the other year,, you would be suprised what goes on here
