I don't think he is the only one Pookie, by far. There are indeed up-country folks who haven't left here since the Vietnam War. They don't care about passport or visa expirations, they just keep a very low profile and become a part of their community.

I am surprised this guy lasted as long as he did in a police/immigration hot spot such as Pattaya. I guess he just never gave them any reason to question him. He does look familiar to me, I may have seen him dozens of times onthe street and like anyone else, if he's not in your face or being an ass, everyone left him alone all this time. Pete

How sad. It sort of makes a mockery of some of these new restrictions, doesn't it? He wasn't causing any trouble & must have had some income source. Hope he rests in peace

Methinks there's more to this particular gentleman than we know, though
36 years is a LONG time to keep your head below the parapet, and not raise suspicion....no?
Especially when you read comments like "A well respected resident" and "sold flags and hats for a living"
And he didnt live "out in the Boonies" either
Also he could afford to employ a housekeeper/caretaker

Strange case, but, nontheless, he had a "good innings"
I hope i live to that age !!!!
