Best beaches round the HH area ??
Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??
the beach looks the same. they have completed the construction of a low rise hotel?/restaurant to the right of where the road dead ends.
it gets very busy there in high season. it felt sort of hectic the last time i was there with the construction. hard to park my scooter.
not calm and empty like low season. hard to say that effect the new hotel will have on the beach.
i am just waiting for everyone to go home.

There are no nice beaches in or close to Hua Hin. Full of horse crap, jelly fish and polluted. Don't go Hua Hin if looking for a nice beach

I must be easily pleased as I think Pak Nam Pran is beautifulTicTac wrote:There are no nice beaches in or close to Hua Hin. Full of horse crap, jelly fish and polluted. Don't go Hua Hin if looking for a nice beach

Pak Nam Pran is beautiful, indeed, and there is a long strip of beaches down to Sam Roi Yot.
I would certainly choose to live in this area rather than living in Huahin where I could easily go from time to time (25-30 km only), and you have a big LOTUS and MAKRO at PRANBURI (10-12 km).
Is it really possible to have a beautiful, clean and not too crowdy beach near a big city, especially in Thailand ???

Head south out of Hua Hin past the new waterpark, turn left at the first PTT you see, pay 20baht to the guy on the gate (if your in a car) free otherwise, very easy to find. Its a military beach, very clean and cheap, lots of locals but not crowded.

Yes, it's called Had Suan Son and as you say, it's a Thai army recreation centre that's open to the public. There are a couple of inexpensive restaurants selling local food and drinks.snagsbootneck wrote:Head south out of Hua Hin past the new waterpark, turn left at the first PTT you see, pay 20baht to the guy on the gate (if your in a car) free otherwise, very easy to find. That beautiful little beach which is probably the nicest spot around will not be the same in the very near future if you guys keep letting the cat out of the bag.......Just saying.
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?
Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??
The beaches you speak of are not close to Hua Hin. 20 - 30 kms is a fair distance. Sam Roi Yot is nice but nothing around and takes a 1.5 hr round trip. As mentioned no nice beaches in or around Hua Hin. Possibly up there with Pattaya as the worst

To find a deserted beach or at least crowd free beach off course you're going to have to travel a wee bit otherwise it would be packed out. You haven't been stung by a jellyfish in HuaHin by any chance ?

Summing up :
If I want to enjoy a nice quiet beach everyday, I will live pretty far from Huahin. If I prefer to visit the Village Market everyday, I will live close to it, so that I can avoid traffic jams...

Hua Hin beach and Suan Son. Although I'd prefer the former, the tranquility in Suan Son is definitely something to look forward to.

I really like the beach just south of Khao Takiab by the small fishing village. It was nice and quiet with very few Farang. The fishing village is well worth looking at as well with some great local food.

What about Khao Tao beach? seemed really nice when we were there.
Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??
The beach is fine, it’s the water that needs improvement, as in more big time ocean rather than a lake, it needs big crashing breakers with the accompanying glorious sounds of billions of foam bubbles popping with seagulls crooning and surfers yelling COWABUNGA surf’s up!
Re: Best beaches round the HH area ??
take a scooter south down the coast. hundreds of miles of beach to explore.
