As a quick thought but may be more

As Seller go to Immigration and get a letter for the proof of residence 500Baht. Tell them its to sell the car.
Even if you have the house registration book I would still get the letter as they keep changing their rules!
Blue Book Car Registration
Passport
Copy everything!
Receipt

Go to Pranburi for the car transfer mid week early morning as gets busy.

They have all the transfer forms but you can search on the internet. I normally print off the Power of Attorney form
when I sell the car so I dont have to do the trip to Pranburi….just the buyer goes.

Get the Buyer to make the proof of residence letter
Passport and copy
All Visa parts on passports

If theres more someone will update you! There are some companies that will do this for you but never used?

Thanks Brit Jim, very helpful

I too will be selling my car. It's in Hua Hin but registered in Bangkok. Does this present any particular challenges?

Hi Robin

As long as the Seller and buyer have the correct paperwork you will be fine - just stays on a BKK plate.

Good Luck and enjoy Pranburi.

Cheers

Does anybody know how long a letter from immigration giving permission to sell a car is valid for?

Sorry BRIT JIM I am confused. Are you saying that if you give a Power of attorney to the buyer, the seller does not need to go with the seller to register the sale? If so is there any need for the seller to have papers except for the Blue Book Car Registration which the buyer will take to Pranburi? if I am correct please give the PoA link and for transfer. Thanks
