Palm Hills access road purposeless guard hut

Has anyone any idea why there is a manned hut on the link between Phetkasem and Palm Hills just after the fancy entrance section before the rail crossing. Strikes me as yet another job which really has no function and it is not that the guy posted there does anything.

You could probably say exactly the same for at least half of the housing developments, you get a perfect salute on entry and exit but nothing else.

I recall there used to be a guard checking access. Must have been maybe 10 years ago or more though. I think that particular road is, or was, a private road. Seemed pointless having a guard there anyway seeing as how there was the khlong road behind.

Even going back to when the Klong road was a track there was the main guardhouse and I am sure the one in question is more recent
