It will probably be very wet. Loy Krathong couldn't take place at Huey Mongkol last year because of significant flooding.

It really could be anything! My friends came a couple of years ago for the end of Oct for 3 weeks and only saw 30 mins of rain. It's a chancy time, but hopefully not too bad.

With the late start to the rainy season in Hua Hin, I'm anticipating a late finish.

It may be dry to semi-wet where we are...but these folks seem to be reliving 2011. Caution if heading north. Pete

I just noticed the below on one of the Hua Hin weather sites. The elevation listed explains why storm surges there can do a lot of damage. I assume the coordinates are for the weather station? Maybe someone can pinpoint it. Pete

Elev 6 m 12.58 °N, 99.95 °E

I thought the weather station was on the right just before Soi 51 going North. However, a check on Google Earth shows an elevation of 10 m 12.34 °N, 99.58 °E

You may be right Big Boy, if you'r talking about that government thingy near the Esso station. I have noticed some odd looking antennas there.

Erm, I don`t think so.
The airport is at: N 12 degrees, 34 min, 40 sec, or 12.5778
and : E 19 degrees, 57 min, 14 sec, or 99.9539

The weather station is as posted just south of Soi 51.

Usually, the weather broadcast at the airport is made up from both local weather stations, plus observations and readings at the actual airport. They are seperate forecasts refered to as "area" forecasts, and TAF, or terminal area forecasts.

That, of course, should have read: E 99 degrees....... :o

I don't claim to be good at Google Earthing, but if you put the coordinates Pete gave into Google Earth it comes up with somewhere in Manila Bay.
12.58 °N, 99.95 °E
So what am I doing wrong?

You're right, about Google. I just put it in and it says I'm at Bldg E, Pea Road 1, Metro Manila.

EDIT: Here's where it came from...see directly under the header on the left side:
