We're the same over here in the East which usually gets constant rain May to November. This year has been nothing except a few hard showers. Water table way down and grass/foliage/trees drying up terribly. Last 3 years I was praying for the rain to stop.

Issan getting some good stuff but only in select places. I don't think much happening up there to fill the dams to where they should be. Some panic about water for the next rice planting, and to get the country through the next dry season.

Coconuts, Bangkok has just published this:

"Bangkok should see scattered showers until the weekend when heavier thunderstorms are expected to soak the capital.

Meanwhile 12 provinces in the east and west have been ordered to prepare for possible flooding by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.

People are warned to brace for possible floods in Surat Thani, Chumphon, Chonburi, Trat, Chumphon, Chonburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chanthaburi, Rayong, Phuket, Phang Nga and Trang provinces."

We got an hours rain earlier - not the heaviest rain but just enough to skip watering tomorrow. The forecast is for more rain over the next few days, so hoping its correct for a change.

Where are you Dannie Boy (I see you're closer to Cha-Am)? I'm in Bon Kai, and we haven't had a sniff of wet weather.

Quite near The Energy project, so about 6km before Cha Am. We had some promising looking black clouds early this morning, but no rain and then about 11 am we got a fairly good soaking.

I guess I need to say things like this more often as now we are getting drowned over here. Just put water in the pool today as well. :banghead: Murphy is my friend!

My joy above was short lived...less than a day. We're now back into blazing sun and heat. Some clouds about but nothing serious.

From Coconuts once again:

"While moderate showers were reported in many districts of the capital yesterday and this morning, tomorrow will see heavy rains return to Bangkok.

The Sathon, Yannawa, Bang Rak, Pathumwan, and Khlong Toei districts should get some soak later today, according to meteorological department, with increasingly heavy rainfall through the weekend and into the beginning of next week."

Look at this radar from 45 minutes ago. I think you'll be getting a good storm any minute now.
