Road works on Petchakasam

Post by richard »

Anybody any idea of what the grand plan is for what is happening on Petcha south of the Tessaban?

Outside BK hospital and Condo Chain the road going south has been narrowed and the central reservation widened. Seems also to be happening going north from MV

I've been watching, and my guess is that they're widening the central reservation to give a wider turning arc on U-Turns plus, it looks as if they're reducing the width of pavements to widen the road there (how long after they've resurfaced the road - TIT?). Getting just like the UK - waterworks dig up the road/repair, followed by telephones, followed by gas etc, etc :D

That makes some sense however the 3 lanes going south from condo chain are now 2. The outside lane was effectively the U-turn lane until they walled it up and started filling it with earth. It has therefore created a bottleneck. Gonna be fun when the weekly MIB road blocking occurs to catch all you naughty farang m/c riders
