Lots of comments, not too many contenders willing to put their comments to the test and join the league....

Pete, BB - Cheers for joining, all approved. FYI Dai_L is a mate of mine from HK and not a member of HHF, but a rugby fan....... and this league needs all it can get!

Well, 2 games certainly full of excitement, both played in horrendous conditions with the opening game between Australia and the AB's having some "questionable" decisions.

Both games very hard fought, with the Aussies drawing 12 - 12 with the Blackness, and the Jaarpies taking the Falklander's (NOT) 13 - 6.

Two New Zealanders were sin-binned in the game, with a few controversial decisions by referee Jaco Peyper - that said, I think it's probably a fair result at the end of the day. The Blackness will have added upset to this result, as it meant they also missed out on a world record 18 consecutive wins for a Tier One test side... (Boo Hoo! :neener: :butt: ).

Although the conditions favoured Argentina IMHO, they are looking pretty strong and hopefully can escape injuries, have a consistent team and provide some good performances this Championship.

The Jaarpies with the advantage after the first round, and congrats to Pete on the Yellow Cap...... barsteward :cuss:

OUCH!!!! Wallabies well and truly mullered 51 - 20 by the Blackness.

In all fairness, there's not a team in the world that would have lived with that display  . Any hopes the rest of us mere mortals may have had that the All Black machine may have been a fading force prior to next year's Rugby World Cup were well and truly put to bed.

A completely different match to last week's game in Sydney, with 8 tries in all, 6 to the blackness, 2 to the Wallabies. A truly great game for the spectator...... unless of course you were watching in green and gold.

Here's to another great game in a few hours time when the Argies play host to the Bokke.

Well my "Gypsy-like" predictions for this round certainly died a death.....

Another cracking game as the Jaarpies narrowly defeated the Falklanders (NOT :neener: ) 33 - 31. Three tries apiece, in this encounter, with the Argies well on top in the forwards - it's not often you see the Bokke pack on the back foot, but "Pack Puma" certainly gave out a few lessons.

Quite frankly I think SA were extremely lucky to come away with a win - an opportunist's try from Habana and perhaps some lack of fitness telling in the last quarter from Argentina made the difference.

Looking forward to seeing scrum-time when the Argies take on the Blackness....

Slightly off on a tangent I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the Rugby League final at Wembley between Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers. In my early teens my dad used to take me to watch League in Hull. It seemed at the time to be a mud-bath between slow over weight soon to be club bouncers. It was always cold and wet so I rarely was a happy bunny. Ended up though playing Union from the age of 12 until I was 28.

In league now the game seems so much faster. The players seem fitter and generally seem to share more than a handful of braincells between them. Tactics even come into play
