Post by Henrikas »

Anyone knows how much it costs to replace the glass of an iPad in Hua Hin? And where can it be done?

Top floor market village 2500฿ but no guarantee, if you go to the apple shop they will replace it with a new one for 13000฿ but it takes a month your one gets sent to Singapore and then a new one is dispatched, that's if it's an apple any other make I don't know but I'm sure some one on the 3rd floor will be able to help you

Generally speaking, the cost of a new applescreen is about 80% the cost of a new apple--its a racket

Would not recommend doing it.
Paid 5000 in buriram shop and never worked really well afterwards. Not perfect touch-sensitivity.

I recently did this on my own iPad. I ordered a replacent screen online and wayched a video on youtube on how to do the whole process. Actually pretty easy, but you have to be patient. It can take an hour or two first time.

Apple has the highest hardware profit margin in the industry on whatever device they're selling. Yet people stand in line for the new versions, happily throw away old peripherals made obsolete by new proprietary ports, are excited by forced OS upgrades, don't think twice about loss of backwards software compatibility and hoover up hand held devices clearly designed to be both difficult to hold on to and hideously expensive to repair if dropped. It's not a racket, it's a cult.

Someday, some prankster has to walk on stage at a giant gathering of the apple faithful, ask everyone to raise an apple device over their heads and repeat after him "We are all individuals".
