Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
I have noted what you have said, hhinner, and have pretty much done what you have said already. The fact that I was missing Livestreams, International and the like in the dropdown seemed to me to indicate I was doing something wrong. If you have got Livestreams etc what did you do to install them. I have a load of music and movies so am quite happy and I installed a skin called Hybrid and it has given me more on screen topics. As for Ex-Pat tv I read all the stuff on it but they dont tell you the cost of anything. I think that the box is over 150 quid and there is a monthly charge aswell. I only really miss the football from the UK and I can catch up on the nonsense on Sky News on cable tv.
Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
If you run it through your laptop/desktop Expat TV only costs 600 Baht a month (plus a one off set up fee of 300 Baht). If you want to run it through and Android box, then they will sell you a box for 4000 Baht.Davy B wrote:As for Ex-Pat tv I read all the stuff on it but they dont tell you the cost of anything. [Edit] They will grant you a free trial, with absolutely no money up front - why not try it anyway?

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
If it's only the football you miss then you'd probably be better of with 365 Sport, which is run by the same people as ExpatTV.
I wouldn't waste money on the Android box - it's a generic Chinese device with an insane markup and the guys who run the service have no clue about how to develop Android software.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Just had a look at the 365 Sport site and I must say I am very impressed at the range of sports it covers and for only 600 baht a month. Cheers for all the info, guys.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
Livestreams add-on is in the divingmule repository. Install from zip/fusion/xbmc-repos/repository.divingmule... . What you really want for watching sports is probably something like the sportsdevil add-on.Davy B wrote:I have noted what you have said, hhinner, and have pretty much done what you have said already. You're probably better off with 365 sport though. It's probably a lot more reliable, and generally you won't get ISP induced buffering problems as will happen with international streaming.
Cheers.

Re: Xbox media center for UK TV
You just configure it on the host OS. There are possibly plugins to do it via XBMC itself but they shouldn't be needed

Re: Xbox media center (XMBC) setup
Depends which VPN service you go with. You'll need to choose one that supports your version of Android (if your media box is android). The documentation will tell you what to do. Other considerations are whether the VPN is any good from Thailand, whether it has a presence in the country you want to appear being in, whether your Thai ISP package is any good for streaming through VPNs, etc. Check in Play Store for VPN.
Re: Xbox media center (XMBC) setup
the cheapest way to view ex-pat tv is using xbmc running threw a VPN.

Re: Xbox media center (XMBC) setup
So why did you ask for help if you already use purevpn? Or is your xbmc box not android?
xbmc Live tv
Does anyone that uses xbmc have a decent access to Livetv on it? I am using Gotham 13.2 on my computer at home in Hua Hin. After going into System/Live tv/General and clicking on Enable, I then click on PVR Clients and then PVR IPTV Simple Client. But after entering the Configure menu and following the Youtube tutorials, I have entered several different URL address within the M3U Playlist tab before closing and restarting xbmc. Some of these URL`s have 2000+ channels but hardly any open and the EPG doesn`t work, some have 400+ channels and most of them do not open either. Because we are in Thailand the EPG would be very handy but I am more concerned that I cannot get many active channels!!
Re: Xbox media center (XMBC) setup
A complete setup for XBMC can be downloaded from www.tvaddons.ag.
There are setups for windows, android, mac etc which can be downloaded.
This will give you live tv, video and music addons completely setup and ready to use.

I can strongly endorse 365SPORT the cost is BHT500 per month and gives the Premier League and just about every other well known sport - it is just about trouble free too and automatically records the previous 7 days. Jusdt waych at 7.00am instead of staying up half the night!! There is nothing worse than watching live sport and the screen freezes.
It does not matter where you come from, it's where you are going that matters.
