After last night's confusion, where X-Men Days was released a day before its official release date, this week's Original Soundtrack offering is:

X-Men Days is showing in 3D at 11:40, 14:30, 17:15 & 20:50

For preview/trailer click the movie name above.

NB: Don't forget your 3D glasses, or you will need to purchase a pair starting at 50 Baht.

I guess they must have gotten cheaper. Watched the 5pm X MEN 3D today and it was 60 baht for 2 so I guess 30 baht a piece now.

I need to thank you BB for your efforts to get OST movies shown in BKK. A review of the papers show that there is no shortage of OST movies in BK and Pattaya.
I have learnt that what may appear to be poor planning or carelessness inThai is often deliberate.

oakdale160, thank for your kind words. Please remember when composing your posts, the potential audience in Hua Hin as opposed to Pattaya/Bangkok, over which I have no influence. This is only the 2nd time in a year that no original soundtrack movie has been shown for the few expats living in Hua Hin. If you work on percentages, Hua Hin cinema are providing a sterling service.

If your cinema needs are such, mini buses leave for Bangkok on a regular basis.

Interesting that the movie--- The RailwayMan, A British movie, starring ColinFirth, about a British soldier who was subjected to more than the usual amount of torture at Kanchanaburi, has not been screened inThailand.

There are NO original soundtrack movies at Hua Hin cinema again this week

This is obviously a reflection of the number Farangs in the area at the moment, but there are many Thais also who prefer to watch Western movies in the Original Soundtrack. I won't do anything this week, but if the same situation continues into a further week, I will engage with head office again to see if anything can be done to resolve the situation.

I still believe for the Thai/Farang ratio in Hua Hin we are getting a good service.

I agree. When I first arrived here last September, I prepared myself to not see another English-language movie unless I travelled back to "civilization". I've been pleasantly surprised, that most of the new movies I'd wanted to see are not only shown here, but usually also in English as well. The fact that the Thai movies are subtitled in English is an added bonus for me. I'm happy that the cinema shows as many OST flicks as they do.

I dont agree that it is a good service, there are quite a few thousand farangs resident here and as you rightly say may Thais prefer original soundtrack as it helps with the english, so the cinema at the moment is not doing its job

Nobody complained a couple of weeks ago when our little cinema was showing 3 Original Soundtrack movies. As I've pointed out, you wouldn't get the same in your home country. There are a lot of Thais living in Bristol, and there are a lot more cinema facilities there. How many Thai movies are shown? Zilch.

I believe they are trying.

your point is rather mute, they are not showing polish movies at home and there are 1000s of them there

in aa city the size of Hua Hin they should have original soundtrack movies all the time, not just for english speakers but thais that want it too

Why? Last week for instance there was a Thai blockbuster. My son went, and couldn't get in until the next showing. I've often been to Original Soundtrack movies with less than 30 in the auditorium. They can't run the place to keep a few Farangs that clearly don't go to the cinema happy. They are a business, and need to make a profit. They make their money from the audience, not the size of a town/city.

Maybe if the few thousand Farang went to the cinema once a week, then they would show a different attitude. Continually running an auditorium at less than 10% capacity because there are Farangs in town is absolutely crazy.

Out of interest, how many times have you been to the cinema this year? Personally, I've been about 2 weeks in 3 this year i.e. the movie on show doesn't always appeal to me.

That's true, I hav never been to a movie in English that was even 10% full. Some people just like to whine. I have heard expats complain about the lack of quality classical muic, but never saw them at the excellent concerts at the Hyatt or Dusit
