There's Meiji... no sign of any English other than "Pasteurized Milk - Meiji Brand". Dutch Mill's label was equally unhelpful. Didn't notice Chokchai on the shelves but I'd be surprised if the labelling is any clearer.

The 0% Meiji brand does say 'pasteurised, non fat milk' on the bottle on the back above the label.

That's the one I use for my tea - doesn't taint the taste and whilst it seems to be more like UK style semi skimmed, has the lowest fat content you can buy, 89 baht for a big bottle at most outlets.

If I could be arsed I could show you loads of pictures of Meiji,Chockchi, Dutch Mill milk labels in English available on a Google search but seeing as you are hell bent to prove me wrong I will concede that you are better informed than me.

I'm only responding because I thought I was going mad when I read that milk here is "clearly labelled". I'd given up trying to work out what I was buying a long time ago - so for a sanity check I started checking the labels in the local 7-11 and, still, no clear labelling. I just find it somewhat bewildering that you're still insisting that it's easy to tell which milk is which when I've just given you two examples of milk I have purchased which leaves me none the wiser. I don't really care what you can find on google; I (mildly) care about what's on the shelves here in Hua Hin.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on poor old Pleng. It must be my experience some 40 odd years ago on a milk delivery round that enables me to identify the various types of milk on offer without reading the label

For me, the Dutch Mill information is fine, since we are in Thailand.
If you go to Germany, or Russia, it will be in German or Russian, I suppose ?

Well of course if we're going to change the argument then you both have very valid points.

However my responses were, strangely, in response to what was written in the posts above it - that different types of milk are clearly identifiable because the bottles are clearly labelled in English.

I don't doubt that a milkman could identify the types without needing a label, and I don't doubt that the information is there in Thai. However, the fact that the milk types are not clearly displayed in English on most bottles gives validity to any requests for help made regarding what colour bottle tops contain what type of milk, and make sateeb's bizarre little outbursts difficult to fathom.

I still don't know what type of milk Dutch Mill orange-top is. But, as I say, I don't really care too much as it tastes just fine to me. Though, given the typical 7-11's attitude towards stock management it is nice to know which types to avoid.

Pleng..you really are starting to annoy me now. I don't give a toss about a photo or two you have downloaded from the web.

Took a trip to my local 7/11 this morning, here are my observations

Meiji Brand......Product description in English on label.

Dutch Mill....Ditto

Foremost....Ditto

Top Tip...If you have difficulty seeing the product description simply pick up and rotate left or right until you see English writing.

Then off to Tesco Lotus Express to check out the Chokchai brand which is also clearly labelled in English.

For those with difficulties reading English here is a guide to buying milk.

Meiji.....Plain milk...dark blue top....................Skimmed....clear plastic top

Dutch Mill.....Plain milk...dark Blue...................Skimmed....light blue top

Foremost....Plain milk...orange top......Skimmed...clear plastic top.......Full fat milk...gold top

Chokchai....plain milk...dark blue top......skimmed...white top.

One may ask how I came by the above information....

I READ THE FRIKKIN LABELS

Further to the above are you prepared to put money where your mouth is????????? or can we put this pointless thread to bed?

Maybe it depends on what outlet you buy your milk..... Although I would see no reason for this....

As a result of this thread I have just checked..... And rechecked my Big C bought milk.....

The only English is......

" Pasteurized Milk, Meiji Brand "

And I was under the impression that all shop bought milk was pasteurized anyway......
