You know the old saying we come out with every year; "its hotter this year than last"? Well it could actually be true this year:

El Niño Looks Increasingly Likely

And here is what it does to the temperatures from March to May (red being higher than usual):

Expect droughts and water shortages this year. Happy Songkran by the way!

Starting this coming mid-week, the forecasters are predicting quite a number of days rain until the end of the month for the HH area - I hope they are at least partially correct.

Looking at the sky now, there are some big black clouds coming in from the west - they look as though they are bringing rain, even though the forecast for tonight says otherwise.

I think I spoke too soon, there were big black clouds heading our way and in about 30 minutes they have turned around and heading back inland, still I'm sure it's only a few days before the rain arrives

Heavy showers here in the east that started at about 0300. Radar looks as if in Bangkok also and mid-gulf offshore Hua Hin. Maybe you'll awake over there to wetness in an hour or so. :D Pete

No joy here Pete; general morning overcast as we've had most days lately (that burns off by noon) but the only water falling is the gardener running sprinklers in the front yard.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Published: 21 Apr 2014 at 20.52Online news:
Bangkok residents are on their way to the theoretical hottest day of the year on Sunday, when the sun will be closest to the city and directly above it.

At 12.16pm on Sunday, the sun will be exactly above the capital, according to the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Narit). In theory, then, it will be the hottest day as Bangkok will be fully exposed by the heat of the sun, it added in a statement on Monday.

The Meteorological Department forecasts that April will be this year's hottest month, with maximum temperatures of about 42-43 Celsius. The average temperature in Bangkok so far this month is 35C, it added,

Yes, it's that really oppressive time of year. Even my dogs don't want to go outside, unless it's to jump into the pool. :D There are thunderstorms in the forecast later this week and next, and I really hope they get here. Pete

A new house being built, they have dug a hole about 5 ft deep for the pool. It is bone dry for the whole depth, amazing that vegetation continues.
I am so bored by twice a day watering, hope we get some rain soon.
