Hello everybody,
We are coming there on friday and are looking very much forward to it. But at the same time we are a bit worried.
I would appreciate an update on the disaster that has happened.
I was just wondering if you have had any affects of the horrible earthquake?
Would appreciate any comments.
Thanks a lot

Earthquake
I for one did not experience anything unusual here in Hua Hin when the first or the second tremor occurred. Local activities in the town were normal. I visited Takieb Bay Beach later that same day and again there were no abnormal wave movements or wave surges. Everything seemed normal which belied the horrific and heart-rending reports that are on every news programme even today.
Longer term I would imagine the disaster will have an adverse affect economically on the Thai tourist trade to say nothing of the tremendous grief of locals and farangs at the tragic loss of life.
If anyone knows of any disaster relief organisation at work in Hua Hin please let me know as I would like to assist in any way I can.

Also donations for clothes/utensils/drinking water will be needed. One truck is leaving tomorrow for south to take donations there. Go to Octopus's or Johnnie Walkers to donate what you think might be needed in south.
