Re: 2014 F1 Pool
That's my fault. I should have directed everyone to the Superbru rules listing/link. You can make picks right up to before the race starts. The cut off time should be listed. However, you forfeit a 2 point "early bird" bonus which you get if you make your picks before qualifying happens. The best time to pick is at least after practice #1, or practice #2 if you can as qualifying is usually on the same day as practice #2 and cutting things thin depending upon race location time zone.Frank Hovis wrote:Now you tell me! It asked me for my picks two days ago and I thought, "that's a little early but I'd better do what it says"
I got mixed up with Kevin Magnusson and Marcus Ericsson thinking there was only one driver called Magnus Ericsson or Eric Magnusson.
I suppose with all the changes we'll need to wait until at least Malaysia to get a feel for who has got it right.
Let me kick you out Frank, and then you reapply under a different handle. In that way you can make your picks again closer to the race. Let me know if you agree. Pete

PS: Reference/link to rules coming in a few minutes.
EDIT: You may actually be able to use the same handle Frank, I don't know. We can try it and if no go, apply under F. Hovis or something.

See links. Forget what it says about "review 2012 for 2013 season...." It's the same for 2014 but if they should change things before the first race, I'll notify all.

Have you kicked me out? I don't mind with my picks, I'd probably stick with roughly what I'd chosen anyway although being able to wait until after practice might give a better feel for it

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
OK then, no need to kick me out and re-pick.
If I take a beating in the first race because I jumped the start, then that's my fault.

OK, but if you change your mind let me know. I'll do it for you and any other players new to the pool this year who may have been confused concerning picks. PeteFrank Hovis wrote:OK then, no need to kick me out and re-pick.

Are we allowed to post general F1'14 stuff in here or is it just for the game?
I couldn't help but raise more than a smile to see Vettel and co. struggle through winter testing. Here's hoping it will be a more evenly contested season, and that the new rules won't mean too much conservative driving as the guys look to preserve their tyres late on... and also hope their new engines don't blow up.

So long as its F1 and 2014 season related, post away.

I don't think it's 'evenly contested' when the Renault engines are likely to be running at 70% power and still unlikely to be able to complete a race distance for the first few racesKowPatGai wrote:Are we allowed to post general F1'14 stuff in here or is it just for the game?

Tyres shouldn't be an issue - Pirelli have gone much harder this year (thankfully). Fuel conservation could be a problem that causes drivers to go conservative though.
Looks like the top 10 are going to get an extra set of tyres for the final quali shoot out. Which is good.

I'm in again Pete, subject to your approval of course.

Re: 2014 F1 Pool
There's a bug this morning. It takes me to our 2013 pool and doesn't show the 2014. So, I can't approve anyone at the moment. I've emailed them and assume all will be back to normal sometime today. Will revert......jjbones wrote:I'm in again Pete, subject to your approval of course.
EDIT: Seems back to normal now. You're in.
