After 4 weeks of work we are just about ready. We will be open on Friday 22nd (builder tells me for sure !!) Will not be fully complete, but the beers will be cold and the Ryder cup will be on, again hopefully if UBC do as promised!!
Will be havin a reopening party which will also be used as a HHAD get together. The guys from SURF FM will be supplying the tunes for the night which will be great.
Have fun, sorry not to be there. It looks like you have an impressive set of shutters now though.
Unless my ears were deceiving me in the car last week, though, I am sure that I heard Surf playing the Lighthouse Family. Surely practicing for clearing the bar at closing time?

That is just one of the effects of atmospherics on FM signals. If you broadcast Pantera in Hua Hin on 102.5 and tune in in Reading you will here the Lighthouse Family. If you wait for Iron Maiden you will hear Abba. Not sure if it works in reverse though.

Fair points Guess. However, I was attempting the u-turn at the end of Soi 6 at the time. I was half way across the road with a Toyota pick up flashing its lights at me, so I had a split second decision to make. Do I keep going and get out of his way, or do I make a grab for the radio and turn the Lighthouse Family off before I'm ill? I acted like a local, stalled across 2 of the 3 lanes, leaned down for the radio, watched the Toyota's tyres squeel, and turned the sound off. And drove into town happily thereafter. It was a close escape, I almost had to listen to more than 3 bars.
I paid a visit to the new J.W.s last night and I like it, I used to spend most of my time in the Road Hole until it died earlier this year, so I’ve been looking for a new bar to prop up. I was pleased to see some of the old Road Hole staff as well, seeing as most of them are virtually neighbours of our place up in Nong Ki, and they have been throwing beers at me in Hua Hin for several years.
I have had to promise not to bring any jungle food back anymore, as apparently the new kitchen is going to be too good for that sort of thing, so no more curried frog!
Got quite a few things left to do, music, bigger tv, kitchen, bar extension and got some nice ideas for decor.
The big party will be when all is complete and can handle loads of drinking!
Hello John

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
I spent about four hours in J.W.s last night and got very high spirited, this ended up with me putting on an display of Issan dancing with a ladyboy, in some bar which luckily I don't remember the name of. I think this scared four elderly german tourists as they left soon after. Anyway my girlfriend got me home in one piece so all is well.
