Hi den123,
I went direct to Bupa Thailand, very reasonable, about £150 for a year for health insurance. (can pm you the email address if you wish)
as you probably already know most travel insurance policies only cover you for the first 30 days...providing you have a return flight booked prior to travelling.

When nosy expats ask how can i live here without working, i reply, 'well, while you worked hard for 50 years, i worked smart for 5 years' :D

150 quid sounds way to cheap, what are they insuring, your underpants!

from what I can see the Bupa guy is talking travel insurance so 150 quid for a holiday is not that cheap

no, its health/medical insurance for 1 year, it depends on exchange rate but I paid 7,950 Bahts for 'personal care - Ruby'.
Iv got basic travel insurance with my amex card but would be no good as i'll be in Thailand for longer then 30 days.

side note - anyone just on holiday I wouldn't recommend really cheap travel insurance as there would probably be a lot of restrictions.

It says in the post that theprice01 went to bupa for health insurance, also it includes out patients( which is even more expensive than basic health insurance)
Please give me the details where you obtained health insurance for anyone in Thailand for £150 pounds !!!!!!

if I remember rightly they ask a lot more questions if your over 60 and have never been insured with them before. They have an office in HuaHin
all I had to do was scan my passport, they send the card(s) out to your address in Thailand.

Talk to AA Insurance! Matt and Andrei can handle any kind of insurance you want. They are forum sponsors so just give them a call! Best in Hua Hin!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

https://www.squaremouth.com/ Travel insurance is all they sell. Twenty five different providers, over a hundred products. Why choose them? This reason has convinced many: Safe with Squaremouth Zero Complaint Guarantee. We work on your behalf. If any one of our clients has a complaint against a travel insurance provider that cannot be resolved to our satisfaction, we will remove the provider from our site and no longer sell its products.

Note, that guarantee is to their satisfaction, not yours. I've seen estimates that 90 - 95% of denied travel insurance claims are because the insured either didn't read the policy, didn't fulfill their end of the contract when submitting claims or submitted claims for losses not covered with the hope it would be honored.
