I'm in subject to Captain's approval, as are a couple of the other usual suspects who I've invited to join again this year...

Well, as for Round 1..... God's Own looked pretty dire at times, especially in the 2nd half, though not taking anything away from the Pasta Munchers who could easily cause an upset or 2 again this season. The Emerald Isle look good and pretty much demolished the Sweaties in the 2nd half........ and as for Beelzibub's XV, so near, but yet so far as the Garlic Chomping Surrender Monkeys steal it at the death.

Bring on the Paddies!!!!

Anywho, the time is almost upon us, and another weekend of 6 Nations rugby......

And what's it to be for Saturday's matches? An unlikely Calcutta Cup victory for the Sweaties, or Beelzibub to get his "chariot" back on track...... Will "Maggotsfield" play a part??

And the pick of the day at the Aviva Stadium, with both teams vying to stay on course for Grand Slam glory....

Dear God, what a woeful, inept and clueless display by Wales ...... it couldn't possibly have been any worse. We couldn't control the ball on the rare occasions we had it, knocking on time and time again, turning the ball over to Ireland on countless occasions. The amount of penalties given away was nothing less than criminal at any level

As for Priestland at Fly Half and the non-existent Welsh lineout .......



Ireland on the other hand played some wonderful rugby and really do look good for the Championship, if not the Grand Slam - Twickenham in a fortnight's time could be a cracker. Ireland were in total control of every aspect of the game today - the rolling maul was a sight to see, but especially impressive was their discipline and it wasn't until the 55th minute that they gave away a "kickable" penalty.......... Wales' only points of the game

Fair play to the Paddies - absolutely no question as to who were the far superior team and deserved winners.

Well, after God's Own and the Almighty himself seemingly missed the ferry across the Irish Sea, and the Sweaties capitulated against Beelzebub and his minions, only the Azzurri can save my weekend ........

Here's to a shock result if ever it was needed - Pasta Munchers by 3 over the Surrender Monkeys!!
