Hi.
I'm visiting early next month with my wife.
We like to enjoy a meal of sushi, so I've been looking around this forum for some recommendations (amongst other things).
As far as I can see there are two viable options, namely Hagi at Centara, and Sakura Sushi on Soi 94.
I cannot find an online menu for Hagi, but being a hotel restaurant they might be priced accordingly :-/
Sakura Sushi's menu is online and looks very interesting.
As we stay in Cha-Am, and just visit Hua Hin a few times during our stay, I'd like to be fairly sure where to go. Can anyone confirm the location of Sakura: First house on the left after crossing the rails on Soi 94 (location 12.554375,99.95719 on Oogle maps).
Does anyone know of other good places to eat sushi? Is it correct that no places exist in Cha-Am?

Re: Sushi cravings
Yes just over the railway on your left. You can't miss it. There is also a sushi restaurant in Market Village called Fuji I think. Its OK, I never had any problems there. Its a chain restaurant that is located all over Thailand in the malls. My favorite is on 94. Try the salmon skin salad. Order it when you first sit sown because it can sometimes take a while for the chef to get the skin crispy. At least that's the reason the waiter gave me and my wife 1 time when our bill came before our salad but that only happened the once.
Re: Sushi cravings
There are a couple of places in Market Village. The Shabushi chain is not strictly sushi as it is one of those places where you cook stuff in a pot at the table but they have a lot of sushi available too and a fixed price for as much as you want within the hour. They are online too so you can see whats on offer. My wife and I have been there often and I like the variety.
Re: Sushi cravings
Hagi is indeed quite expensive, by Thai standards.Crafack wrote:I cannot find an online menu for Hagi, but being a hotel restaurant they might be priced accordingly :-/
I'd second the recommendation for Fuji at the 2nd floor of Market Village. Excellent value for money, and they have a lot of different dishes to choose from, sushi (maki, nigiri and sashimi) and non-sushi. Love their spicy tuna, the arctic salmon, the various crispy and tempura stuff, ... yum.
Re: Sushi cravings
Thank you for the advice, it's nice to see that variety is to be found
We've tried Sabushi a few times in MBK. The sushi is ok, and the concept of the restaurant is new (to us).

Re: Sushi cravings
There is also a thai chef called top who has been operating here for years... Bit of a character. . He now has a yatai style Japanese food stall in the car park of g hotel soi 94 open in evenings. Good sushi and entertaining! Both sakura and tops place are much better than the chain restaurants in m.v. imo.
