It's happening again.........
The Christmas / New Year Fairy - otherwise known as Mrs.T has worked a miracle.

Tomorrow Saturday 28 December should see the arrival of 35 young Amazon Redtail Catfish to spice up the action on the bottom pond.

The new stock will all be between 3 and 5kg, but at their growth rate should be giving good sport in the months to come

Watch this space. 8)

Thanks for your reports BB - much appreciated.

We were a little disappointed with the size of some of our 35 new arrivals - so Mrs.T gave the delivery guy a nagging and we consequently got a small rebate.................T.I.T. I guess.

Nevertheless, the Amazon Redtail Catfish is one of the most worthy of adversaries as BB has pointed out. They always fight with the strength of a fish twice their own size and these young fellas will soon grow fast as they munch their way through our resident and burgeoning Pla Nin population. I like to refer to these fish as one of nature's weapons of mass destruction. They are also quite staggeringly beautiful. 8)

In the end we put 30 into the bottom pond and 5 in the top pond (For Pla Nin mop up duty)

Looking forward to hooking a few of these beauties in late May. Hopefully they will have grown a bit by then.
Keep feeding them up.

It has been suggested elsewhere that a certain member of the forum provided all the groundbait last Thursday

If you want me to come over and pull out a few Pla Nin for you, I'd be happy to oblige. The boys who fish the village pond nr the family mart would not mind us popping a few in there. :-)
