Wife and I thought Gravity was boring, lost interest once George Clooney was out of it. It had great potential but the story line could have been better.

I read some reviews this morning that absolutely gushed over the movie's special effects, accurate depiction of physics and Sandra Bullock's terrific acting... sorry to the newspaper's film critic, but from the trailers it seemed clear to me that it's just another second-rate, over-hyped suspense flick. Neither George nor Sandra have ever impressed me with any acting skills - they appear to get their roles based on their heartthrob appeal, not because they deliver good performances. But yes, I will still pay and see it.

Original Sountrack (English) movies is a little more technical than usual this week :D .

Insidious Chapter 2 is showing at 11:30, 15:30 and 21:00

Click movie name for review.

Gravity (Digital) is showing at 13:50 and 18:30

Gravity (3D) is showing at 16:10 and 20:50

3D version will cost more than Digital version. Review for Gravity can be seen on last week's post.

 First thing to do in the Big Boy household when a movie is Part 2 or later is to download and watch the previous movies. I don't know if Insidious has been discussed on the 'Movies on DVD' thread, but it is highly recommended by my son and I. I can't remember the last time I've had so many chills running up and down my spine, and modern horror movies don't make me jump. Well, not until I watched this baby

We can't wait to watch Part 2 in the cinema now.

We went to watch Insidious Chapter 2 last night. The first, and most relevant thing to say is get most benefit from this very scary movie is that you must must watch Insidious first. It was very cleverly done, but a lot of what happened in the first movie was explained in the second. Don't get me wrong, I'd rate both movies as amongst the best, scariest films I've ever seen, but to watch the 2 gives you the complete picture.

Last night, I could only pick out 3 Farangs amongst an audience of 10 :? .

Definitely gets a big recommendation as a horror from me, but if you're affected by such movies, don't watch it - it could be too scary. On a scare scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is scariest, this probably gets a 13 from me.

It's Thursday, so it's all change today. It looks as if my constant bombardment did get through regarding Original Soundtrack movies. Original Soundtrack movies this week are:

Insidious Chapter 2 goes into it's 2nd week, with two showings per day at 16:20 & 21:00

Also the much talked about Arnie/Stallone movie Escape Plan at 11:30, 14:00, 16:30, 19:00 and 21:30

Click movie name above for review of Escape Plan.

Major Cinema website http://www.majorcineplex.com/en/search- ... nemaId_1=2 says Insidious 2 shows twice, once at 16:20 and once at 21:00 - maybe they haven't updated their webpage yet?

:? Well, what can I say apart from TIT :D

You use the exact same link as me. I can assure you you, what I wrote above is what the website said earlier today. My son saw it also, and we were talking about how only one showing per day for Insidious made a lot of sense.

They've obviously updated their webpage since, so I've now updated my post.

Thank you very much for pointing it out.

I'm just glad you reminded me that it was still playing, before it ended. The wife really wants to see it; I DL'ed #1 a couple nights ago so we would know what was going on in #2, then we got distracted with dentist/auto repair/etc and lost track of the important stuff.

I think you'll enjoy it. The 2nd half is very clever, and explains a lot. I won't say any more, or I'll spoil it for you.

Went to watch Escape Plan last night. My son thought it was OK, but I rated it as one of the worst I'd seen at Hua Hin cinema. I guess I just couldn't relate to a couple of pensioners creating absolute hell - probably just me  .

Stallone looked really awful. Close ups of his face showed pieces breaking away - maybe the cement (make up?) falling out of the wrinkle cracks.

One other thing, we were in auditorium number 3. Obviously the first time I've been in there, and compared to the other 3 auditoriums, the seats are not as comfortable, and much smaller.

Saw Tom young goong 2 today and glad the film has English subtitles. Cannot help but wonder if they have screenings for those with normal hearing as I could have done with some earplugs. Typical action flick although made on a budget and CGI graphics must have been very low on the list. Am sure there are many here that will enjoy it as my wife did but suspect most foreigners would not.
