Good restaurants around Hua Hin Hospital?

Post by mafiamind »

Just moved near Hua Hin Hospital and looking for some good places to have dinner. I was living in Khao Takiap area previously, so I am not very familiar with this end of town. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have noticed a lot of street food vendors in the area, but after a few bad experiences I tend to limit my visits to these places.

Cheers

Hello
Soi 6 has some good Thai syle and Thai priced restaurants, there is also Mr Burger and 3 girls on the klong road although We have not been to either for a while. At the bottom of Soi 7 is a small hotel the Whitesands on the beach, food is ok and the view when the beach is clean is good. Near Wat Bofai is the Issan hut a little restaurant, many of our Thai friends go there but if Issan food is not your thing then you will be out of luck

I think you'll find 3 Girls has morphed into something else.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

There was recently a recommendation for the Pimtara Restaurant on the Klong road between Soi 4 & 2, especially good for indian curry if you're into that.

Have been to Pimtara on numerous occasions and, although the Indian curry is indeed very good, the rest of the extensive menu is equally good with a variety of Thai and western dishes at reasonable prices.

About two thirds of the way up Soi 16 on the left there is an old bungalow where they have a rather good noodle restaurant amongst the trees in the garden. I think it's only open during the day but it's away from the traffic and much cleaner than the street food places.

You'll also find the Butcher restaurant on the main road just before PTT. Nothing special but very reasonable sinced it's owned by the same people who own Burger 3. There's also Kor Sor Resort further up soi 6 and a few people have posted on here that the food is good and very reasonably priced considering the outstanding setting.

Up towards the shooting range in soi 6 you'll also find a newly opened Swedish restaurant which is good value for money, but only open in the evenings, and not on Tuesdays. It's a smallish place located on the owner's property.

What kind of food do they serve, Takiap? Swedish, presumably - any good? Anything else?

Sorry, I can not resist this. I would have thought that now that the offending tree has been removed and a new "Home Mart" shop opened on the corner that clearly reveals the road sign, that all of you good folk that claim to live in Soi 6 would now be able to see clearly that it is SOI 4!
Now as long as all the riff raff that live up that way continue to keep away from the proper Soi 6 I will not press the issue, and you can call it what you like. But if you are going to direct other folk in that direction kindly refer to the Soi as indicated in the aforementioned manner. Thank you all! :rasta:
(ps: I nose some dud that has a high pressure tank, and I will ask him to come and wash out yo mouths if yoes do not desist)
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Nereus, what are you doing paying so much attention to soi numbers?

I have long since given up trying to make sense of anything in Thailand, including addresses and the like. Anyway, it's up the soi after PTT.......oh, and past Bofai Temple. :thumb:

Dannie Boy and Barrys, thanks for the recommendation for Pimtara. Had dinner there earlier and was not disappointed.

Another Britishism that confuses me--when somebody goes to a restaurant and says-- I was not dissappointed, does that mean it was not dreadful, just OK or does it mean something better than that??
