Seriously, its rained pretty much for the last week culminating in being flooded out on Tuesday (village, not house), moved back in yesterday. It even rained for the 3 days spent in Hua Hin after the Chelsea game!

You would usually be very safe during mid November through to end March for Hua Hin

Warning of flash floods in South
The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department on Tuesday issued a severe weather warning for people in ten provinces in the South.

People living near hillsides and waterways in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Satun, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phatthalung should brace for heavy rain, possible flash flooding, forest run-off and mudslides over the next four days, Aug 7-10, Chatchai Promlert, the department’s director general, warned.

There will also be strong wind-generated waves in the Andaman Sea. All shipping should proceed with caution and small boats should remain ashore during this period, he said.

I doubt anyone will find this as interesting as i did

Sat in my quiet space in the alley between my bungalow and next doors i looked up (rain spotting) and noticed the lower clouds seemed to be traveling at a pretty fast clip in a from Burma to Hua Hin on to pattaya direction.
I then noticed through the gaps that the much higher clouds were going in the exact opposite direction and going at quite a clip as well.
At ground level there was not a breath of wind

quite common Sarge. Ask any senior airline pilot.

Winds can operate in different directions at different heights. I often watch from my 9th floor balcony clouds moving over Hua Hin from the west whilst the windsock at BK hospital shows the wind coming in from the east

Thats odd cos on account of i knew that

The bit that i found interesting was ? is it possibly an optical illusion that going directly opposite they appear to be going faster than they actually are. And no richard i do not know the answer to that

I'm looking at the radar and rain moving west to east and your "hissing down" has now arrived here across the gulf....in buckets! Pete

I watched it go west to east. Strong winds here but the rain clouds passed over north HH
