By my reckoning, the next fixture is 22nd June @ 4pm. They are home to Prachuap.
venue: Kai Tanarat Stadium, Ampur Pranburi, Prajuap Kiri Kan

I will make an effort to be there. I must admit, I assumed KO would be after the sun had gone down - could be a bit warm.

Supporting a team at the bottom of league 2 - now that sounds a bit familiar

Walking home from the quiz at JW's last night I spotted this on a huge billboard outside the Tessebahn:

So, it seems to confirm that fixtures are advertised (unfortunately in Thai).

The next home game is this Saturday (tomorrow). Assuming I can find the ground, I will be there, and will report back. 16:00 seems to be a killer of a time to kick off - I really can't understand why they don't kick off after the sun goes down. Unless, of course, there are no floodlights

Come there 10 min. late and rushed up the stairs and find my self in the away teams sektion ok
went out for a beer and find the right sektion.

The game was a good game when you think of it was the 1 in the season or after a break.

It ended 0-0 wich was a fair result with the greatest chances to Hua Hin,a nice shot on the post in the
last few min.

I like that both of the teams after the games goes to the other teams supporter first and say thanks
to them and the fans do the same and after that goes to their own team and say thanks to them.

Saw a blue Ranger so maybe BB whas there and took some fotoes.

Good atmosphere and cheap beer even got one for free from some of Hua Hins hooligans will go again I think if it fits in the program.

by the way the entrance was 50 bath and there was a lottery with some gifts from AIS with the young lady in there AIS dress handing out the gifts.

Yes, I was there. I too sat with the away supporters

We (I dragged Mrs BB along, to help me for the first time - she hates football) found the ground quite a way from the camp entrance. Admission was 50Baht each, which included a raffle number (drawn at half time).

The ground consisted of a Grandstand, with (stone) seats on one side of the pitch - no resemblance at all to being cramped up at a UK match. My legs were straight out - very roomy. There was also a small stand opposite with what looked like wooden seating. A couple of panoramic shots:

The pitch was in much better condition than I expected. Before the kick-off, we all had to stand for the King:

Accustomed as I am to the crap which has been served up by the Green Army over the last few seasons, I was pleasantly surprised. Both teams were actually able to string passes together, which was a much better standard than I've seen for a few years.

The entire match was played in a carnival atmosphere, with drummers playing and supporters singing throughout. Also there were some little kids in front of me dancing along for most of the match. I recorded a short video so that you could experience the noise the small crowd (I'd guess about 1,000) were making:



There was also a little pantomime. There were 4 Thai squadies who ran on several times with the stretcher. Each time they reached the injured player, he simply stood up and walked off. Finally they went running on for a player still standing - they pushed him over onto the stretcher so that they could carry him off.

The referee didn't do too badly - I've certainly seen a lot worse in English League 2. However, there was one incident where Prachuap thought they deserved a penalty. The linesman and 4th official ran on to help him. When the game eventually re-started, the Prachuap manager (I'm guessing that's who he was), who had been a bit of a handful for the 4th official all afternoon went up behind the linesman and hit him between the shoulder blades. The linesman didn't make a fuss, and he got away with it.

It was fantastic to be back watching real football again, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll definitely be there for the next match.

I forgot to mention, there were plenty of freebies for those who turned up on time as well, which included a decent fixture card, toothpaste, mouth wash, inflatable drum sticks, pens etc

EDIT: I forget to post the name and I love it: THE VUVUZELA! Just rolls off the tongue doesn't it. Would make a good bar name or cocktail name as well.

There was a young lad there with what I guess was a Thai version. He blew into the top, and it wasn't as long. Just as noisy though.

I don't know if yesterday was a special match i.e. was Hua Hin vs Prachuap a local derby? Certainly there were an equal number of fans for both teams. Prachuap brought 2 bands with them - one on each side of the pitch. Plus of course the Hua Hin band. The main contribution from the bands was the drummer - tempo significantly increased when attacking or defending. The atmosphere was brilliant for such a small crowd.

I intend going to watch them play Samutsakhon on 7 July - let's see what the atmosphere is like then. I will report back.
