Here we have a car of the 70s. The bodywork has been dramatically changed by a very well known designer of the period. The raised air intake in the bonnet was a later addition, by the same designer, but he did not like it as it spoilt the lines

Some may like the styling and some will hate it

2. What is the name of the car?
3. Who was the designer?
4. Which car was used as the basis of the design?

Here is something unusual and unique. Disregard the large white disc at the front, it is not part of the engine.
Who made it, when and where, and what is unique about it?

It's a four cylinder, overhead cam with a not very adventurous exhaust system.
Wild guess at capacity - maybe a 1300cc ? Is it an early Ford Kent ?

Not a Ford, heaven forbid! A lot less that 1300cc, OHC yes, 1930`s.

Was it unique because it might have had an electric starter motor?

Was it unique when it was first built or has it been modified in some way to make it unique? Perhaps in the fuel it uses? Is it powered by cow farts or something?

What is the black thing hanging off the camshaft, can't be a starter motor, you wouldn't start a car by spinning it's cam.
Alternator? Off the camshaft?
Direct drive forced induction ?
Is the aluminium casting on the RHS for coolant? That's not the inlet manifold is it ?

Are any of these questions getting closer to the point ?

Black "thing" is not a starter motor. Alternators were not invented at that time.
Aluminium casting is the water cooling manifold.
Not forced induction.

It had an electric start, but that did not make it unique.

Was unique when first built--not modified. Burns low octane petrol.

I have some other photos that show it a bit clearer, but also show the company logo, so not yet!

Is it this particular engine (block) that is unique rather than this engine range?

Perhaps it was an engine that won the Mille Miglia or similar ?
