Where to get E85?

Post by Terry »

In common with a lot of new cars, my new beastie runs on E85.

I've tried it and compared to E20 and 95 Gasahol there is no apparent difference in performance or consumption.

There IS of course a vast difference in price. At 22 -23 THB / litre it is a positive bargain and on a full tank I can save up to THB 500! 8)

So - here is the problem.

I know of only two garages (gas stations) currently selling the stuff. Both are on Rama 11 Bangkok bound and are 'Lemon Green' branded.

I know that PTT are gearing up to sell the stuff and where it's advertised the price is always 00.00. Meaning that they are not yet stocking it.

So my question is - does anyone know of a garage near to Hua Hin currently selling it?

I noticed the NEW PTT station between Cha-Am and Hua Hin selling something different and very cheap as I drove past earlier. It was E something, but I didn't really take that much notice apart from the fact it was cheaper than my diesel.

BB
I was aware of that new PTT station - the guys at Honda Hua Hin had told me about it, but were not sure that it was open yet. When I checked about 10 days ago they had no E85

From your observations of 11th and now from mangbong's confirmation, a detour via that station will be worthwhile.

Many thanks

It would appear that this is the same facility as the one BB was referring to, which if coming from Cha Am towards HH is on the left hand side immediately past The Energy condo development and much closer to CA than HH (about 7 km's).

I came past there again today, and it's definitely E85 (22 Baht/litre I think). They're displaying it on their board, so I guess they've got it  but TIT.

Have now found several E 85 stops between HH and BKK and they all seem to be PTT or Lemon Green

There is a new supply at the PTT Northbound LHS just before Soi 6 - at last a supply nearer to town.
