Tummakam Pier at Chumphon

Post by phartley58 »

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with the GPS co-ordinates for the Lomprayah Ferry Pier at Chumphon...???

I am driving there from HH on Monday and so far all the ferry company has done for me is provide a map that looks like it was knocked up by a 5 year old. And that is being derogatory to the 5 year old... They say they can't, or more like won't give me the co-ordinates.

Also, no matter which spelling of Chumphon (Chumporn) I enter into the satnav it comes out not recognised.

It's not the getting to Chumphon, it's the getting to the pier once I'm there.

:cuss:

sorry I cannot give you directions or co-ordinates but the pier is well sign-posted even before you get to Chumphon; it is not actually in Chumphon; it is several kms beyond, along a coastal road.

I've taken the trip several times, and the easiest way I have found is to go past the main gate of the Novotel, (heading south) and there is a right turn about 3-4 kms' on the right side which leads you up to the pier.

The Notovel might also show up easier on your GPS

Plan for 20-25 minutes from the main town (clocktower) to get there. A comfortable 3.5 hours from HH

Car parking is good & quite safe
