Yes, but let's be honest, it was a bit of a fluke!
For sure, playing at Bayern's home ground, with nearly all the support and a very superior attitude built-in, what was the flag they paraded, 'our city, our stadium, our cup'. Yeah, some fluke to overcome all of that and become European champions. Let me know when the Spuds get close.
really, the match stats were embarrasing, they were so dominant it was mental, however you won so be happy but it was a game to lose for sure

It's not as though fast and direct is a new way of playing. United have bossed the Premier League for 20 years doing similar. United in recent years have overcome Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool with what I'd consider shite inferior midfielders.

It's not new lady's and Gentlemen.

Bayern are boss though.
sorry, how did Liverpool come in to it after so many years without a championship

Not embarrassing, we won! :D

The perverse thing is their woeful attempts at goal - or was it good defending? That's what I recall. Only 7 shots on target from how many shots, 43? Our ratio was about 50%! :)

But you're missing the point, the game was played at their home ground and they had most, if not all of the support, naturally.

If we'd won a championship they wouldn't have seen us off, it's quite simple.

We come 2nd behind United with the highest point total that didn't win the league, so they saw us off. It's not rocket science. We were ranked number 1 in Europe for 3 years above United, Barca and Real, we were pretty good.

Results do as well.

We beat Real Madrid 5-0 on aggregate, beat Barca at the Nou Camp, Inter at the San Siro. 2 Champions league finals in 3 years.

Liverpool were one of the best sides in Europe under Benitez. Top scorers as well, it was all kept a bit quiet though, Tottenham got more praise and media attention for losing at Inter than we did for thrashing Real and beating Barca away.

Talk to you Sunday.

When BM beat Arsenal on away goals, I said, I'd be cheering for the Bayern. However, I never expected Dortmund to be in the final so I will now change what I said. I still think BM will win but tonight I'm cheering Dortmund.

The game is hotting up nicely now, I find Ribery deeply unpleasant and what a goal line clearance by Dortmund in the last few minutes!

Edit: Bugger, I was looking forward to extra time! Bayern win 2-1 with a last minute goal from ex- Chelsea player, Robben!

Should have been sent off imo for lashing out like he did :|
The centre back should have went too, second yellow for the dreadful tackle for the penalty :?
Could have ended 9 v 10 had the ref seen Lewandowski's sly stamp

Entertaining game though, Bayern deserved the win, just didn't like some of their theatrics :tsk:
