Knowing "actual" government policy usually doesn't get one very far in Thailand. Immigration's official site says no seasoning required (IIRC). That's true at some immigration offices, though some want 2 months. HH wanted 3 last time I checked. That date would happen during the window I could get the 12 month extension to my non-imm type 'O' visa but I appeared at HH immigration a few days earlier. The lady who's nicknamed after a mythical reptile told me it wouldn't be a problem for 4000 thb.
