In the past I also read good reports about the Military Hospital in Pranburi. But nothing of recent times. Is it still available to the public?heartofmidlothian wrote:If you ask any Thai's where is the best hospital, they will all say Petcharat. Sounds like they are right!
Best Hospital in HH?

Re: Best Hospital in HH?
Unfortunately, the type of “service”, referred to in the above post is not limited to Bangkok Hospital. It is a national trait that is not uncommon in many businesses in this country.Big Boy wrote:Until recently, I had been satisfied with treatment given at Bangkok Hospital. However, 3 recent visits have made me think differently.
Time and time again you will see a new business start up with great fanfare and endless promises, and after about 1 year the old “mai phen rai” slips in and it goes downhill from there.
It can be seen in established businesses as well, Thai Airlines being a prime example.
Take a look at True Visions and the arrogant manner in which they treat their subscribers.
How many new restaurants open up, get good press for the first year or so, and then start to attract criticism, which many times is the result of their own complacency, added to an attitude of take it or leave it.
This type of thing no doubt goes on in other countries, but we do not see those countries claiming to be “the hub” of everything from food to good government!

May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!
Re: Best Hospital in HH?
I can't disagree with that statement. It is therefore even more pleasing that a well established hospital such a Petcharat is still so very thorough.

Petcharat, really?
I'm off out to visit my friend who is over here on holiday.
He used to live here.
Abridged version...
About 4 years ago he made an appointment to see an ENT specialist.
The female specialist from Bangkok thought that he might have a hair lodged in his throat (what was she thinking?) and duly supplied him with medications and told him to come back in a month!
I got him to go back to the UK, where he was diagnosed with throat cancer and treated.

Fair comment christopher1. Where would you recommend as an alternative please? Also, reasons why would be helpful.

For the women readers and members of this forum, I can personally recommend Dr Tongta Ujjin who is a gynaecologist at Bangkok Hospital, HH. An experienced and professional lady with a gentle touch and manner to match.

BB from my friends point of view. The best thing he did was go back to the UK.
If it were I and I was capable of doing it, I would be on the next flight home.
I'm not saying that there aren't any good hospital's with good doctor's and medical facillities. I'm probably like the rest of us...I'd need a recommendation too.
Yours. Chris.

Recommended hospitals in Hua Hin
Hello All.
New member here. I've been in and out of Hua Hin for years so thought I'd finally Join.
Right now looking at hospitals around the area and in Bangkok.
Has anyone any experience of, or recommendations for a good vascular surgeon?
I need a leg artery aneurism removed.
Petcharat? Bangkok Hosp Hua Hin? or hit the big smoke? Heard good things about Mahidol, but nothing detailed.
All suggestions gratefully received, as well as places NOT to go.
Cheers

My friend stayed in HH BKK Hosptal for two weeks, and cant praise the place enough. Turned out all he needed was a chiropractor for his back problems, but they couldnt bring someone in because of their policy. Well, im a chiro and i went down there, fixed him up

Re: Best Hospital in HH?
We have been in Hua Hin for one year now.
We can only recommend BKH Hua Hin.
First my wife (retired nurse) had problems with her heels.
She had x-rays and the orthopedic doctor could show her
and explain the cause of the pain.
The physical therapy was state-of-the-art.
Then my wife twisted an ankle, and she had to consult the
orthopedic surgeon again.
Again plaster was state-of-the-art!
I have so far consulted an ent specialist and a dentist, and I am quite
content with the service provided.
Kind regards,
MB

Hello,
having unashamedly sung the praise of Bangkok Hospital HH,
I have in the meantime heard of two misdiagnoses!
Also I have been warned by an insurance broker that they will
always suggest expensive treatment options as first measures
when they are not really necessary.
Also transferring patients by helicopter to Bangkok for common or garden procedures.

Hello,
Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin:
Helicopter story - hearsay!
So far personally completely satisfied with their service,
in particular with the Dental Department!

Obviously in an emergency such as a heart attack or stroke only one of the local Hua Hin hospitals is practical.
