Thanks Russ - you and your mate will be most welcome I'm sure
I spent most of this afternoon at Barry's place including a trip on his new eco friendly electric powered river boat 'The Kingfisher'
A very pleasant experience.
Whilst there we witnessed a team practicing in their dragon boat on the river. These guys were awesome.
You can all rest assured that by judgement of the standard of likely opposition - we will not get past the first round!
So - more importantly - it will be the makings of a damn good day out with plenty to observe and we can all make a better study of other hydraulic phenomena

So lets have more volunteers please to make a good showing for the crazy farangs.

when in nov roughly?
I'd love to join in and am fat but pretty fit, (weight is good in a boat), but the river should carry us anyway to finish line, but im not sure what dates i will be in the good country again, but i will try to be there for it.
Also hua hin fishing lodge, do you have a website?
Im usually bored silly in hua hin, some fishing/ boating wou;ld be perfect, as she often takes bus home in day in daytime to see mammy etc. and leaves me on me todd all day.

OK
Spoke to Barry at Mermaid Cruises this p.m.
He has suggested a rather excellant proposal.
All those interested can meet at his place in Pak Nam Pran this coming Sunday after lunch.
He has offered a free trip on his electric launch 'The Kingfisher', a chance to see the dragon boat that we could be racing and possibly even meet our new 'trainer'
We can follow this up with a first training session of the liquid nature.
SO - all those up for it please pm me or Barry to confirm.
Date of Dragon Boat event is around mid November and we will confirm when known.
Anyone interested in sea fishing can find Mermaid Cruises listed in HHBD as is Hua Hin Fishing Lodge for the freshwater fishermen.

Ah, come on lads! It won't kill us, really.
If you come over on Sunday, I promise we won't have to do any actual boat training. Just have a look-see, relax on the river a bit, soak up the atmosphere and be my guest over a few beers.
What's there to lose?
Give it a try - the locals can be good crackt. too!
