irish bar by hotel murphy!
what is the name of the irish bar by hotel murphy, i drank the odd night there. pool table sucks though.
Guess, there is a bar called EL MURPHY'S in Soi Selakam (has a mexican resteraunt in it) and is opposite the Limelight?.
The only Irish bar that I can think if that he could mean is the Ship, which is not far away from there. Used to walk past both on my way into town.

Yes that is true Eddy own both El Murphy's and the Dubliner (ex Ship Bar) and it is also possible that the hotel (or guest house really) is called the Murphy Hotel. The main Irish bar in Hua Hin of course is Crawford's which is a couple of doors along from the Dubliner in Soi Poolsuk. It has no pool table.chelsea wrote:Norsman/Steve G: You could be right, the one I am thinking about is on the same side of the road as the bar (just past it & on the corner).

To reiterate the only Irish establishmnet that I am aware of in Hua Hin that has a pool table is the Dubliner.

i think the bar you want to find is called the irish bar, walk past crawfords , crawfords being on your left, and on the next left corner is irish bar, its a steep step to get in and has a pool table, i was in there a few weeks ago with 2 friends from england, i saw a hole in the ceiling, but couldnt see up as it was dark, i thought it was some sort of feature they had tried to make, one of the girls was sliding a step ladder across the floor and placed it under the" feature" when my mate dave said "ONLY IN THAILAND"...... i turned around and saw these bar girls climbing down the steps from the said ceiling
found out that its up there that they stay !!! boy did we laugh , had many a good night in there, good friendly girls, i cant wait to get back.....

The bar is called The Dubliner although it has sign saying Irish Bar. A parellel would be if I had a shoemakers shop and called it Guess & Co, I could also have a signd saying Cobblers.
The whole in the ceiling is the only way of getting to the first floor. The step ladder for people whoa cannot jump very high. It's a tradditional Irish design, not Thai.

Try multiplying that figure by ten and you are getting closer. 600000 baht in this areas buys you enough space to build a toliet.
You would probably find somewher in Liverpool for that price.

The difference is whether you are buying the bar lease or the building freehold. The cost of the lease will depend on the amount of years the lease still has to run and how much the rent to the landlord is. If you buy the building outright (freehold) it would cost more than 4 million and less than 10. So you are both right or both wrong depending on whether you meant lease or freehold!lfc3acmilan3 wrote:thats crap guess. a bar just went for 850000 baht on this very website! as for liverpool, you can get a 2 bedroom house for £65000 if your lucky.
