BB

Another potential little niggle has just occurred to me.

When we ordered our Honda, I asked for, and received, the owners manual in Engrish!

Just wondering whether you did this at Ford

Cos if not it could take you weeks to find out how to get at that spare wheel, find your fuses etc etc :run:

Thanks for thinking that a manual would help me  I'm a complete ignoramus where things like fuses and spare wheels are concerned. (Not for the first time in Thailand) I pulled into a fuel station last week in a friends car, and didn't know how to open the fuel cap. Luckily the girl serving me did

I probably shouldn't mention this, but you are not alone, BB.
Ahem.
I once destroyed the engine of an oldish (but perfectly serviceable until I bought it) Range Rover because I thought that the brake fluid was the engine oil. I checked it now and then, but it never seemed to need topping up...

You may laugh if you wish. If I had any mechanical credibility to lose, I wouldn't be posting this.

Not to worry DM

I had a neighbor back in the UK who told me that he had great trouble topping up his engine oil.

I went to see his problem

Afterwards I always addressed him as dip-stick

You can guess why.

And then there was the female driver (good driver actually), but a bit of a know it all. In place of checking the engine oil once a week, as was general fleet policy, madam decided the best way was to just add 1 litre a week regardless. This would also help to protect her painted finger nails! Well, after about 6 weeks of this the engine objected and threw a connecting rod out the side of the block. Unfortunately, madam was not in range at the time! :banghead:

There was another thread about this some time back--I think the thread was about the Ford Ranger, and the comment was that they could not find an English handbook.

I can`t find it Big Boy, but there is some comments at the start of this saga. One of them from your good self whereby you have quoted that you do not need a book! I guess that after all this time waiting, a handbook is pretty low on priorities.

The truth? It's been so long, I'm not 100% sure. From memory (in no particular order):

Tow Bar
Rear Mud Flaps
Bonnet Protector
Wind Protector (for windows)
Mats
Step/Sill Protector
The shiny Triangular Chrome Thing that goes in the flatbed (thought it looked nice in the picture  )

There were 9 - haven't got a clue what the other 2 are. It'll be a nice surprise when I find them.
BB looking good, hopefully many years of happy motoring in LOS!

I'm just back from Immigration with the necessary letter in hand and yet another bit of paper stapled in my passport. Cost - just 300 Baht. The process was painless, with the lady at the photocopier filling in the necessary paperwork for me. Start to finish about 30 minutes.

Well, I've seen it, touched it and smelt it. I asked when I can have it? We don't know, we've got to order the extras now. They've got to come from Bangkok, and we don't know how long that will take.

WTF, I ordered my extras 4 months ago :?
