Green Barley and gout

Post by Khundon1975 »

My latest blood test shows that I may well be susceptible to gout, despite me eating a good diet.

My Doc does not want to give me more medication and has pointed me to Green Barley powder.

Does anyone have any experience with this substance in treating or stopping one getting gout?

Painfull but not serious bsdk1960 :thumb:

That is why I and my doctor, are trying to prevent it without using medication.

I suffered a couple bouts 20+ years ago and my doctor wanted me to take a medicine.

I didn't want to so did some research and found Korean Red Ginseng helped. I started a regiment of 4 pills a day and never had another problem again, in fact I quit the ginseng 5 years ago.

The study was specific it had to be Korean Red, not one of the many other types.

Good Luck!

Good to hear ,and I agree to avoid the medicine, and go for some natural stuff first when possible.

Good luck with the treatment.. :thumb: :thumb:

I have had two attacks in the last 36 years, the fird=st one they gave mme a magic pill which caused the pain to go in minutes the next attack was 36 years later when again I was given a tablet to releave the pain but was advised by the doc not to eat shellfish.
That was 6 years years ago and all has been well.
Never heard of Green Barley its not been mentioned in my treatments.

I too suffer from gout and am currently taking half a Puride 500 tablet a day to control the uric acid but if I get any attacks I have used diclofenic sodium and/or colchicine tablets, but like you would much rather take a "natural" remedy, so will follow this thread with interest. As most gout sufferers will be aware, that the wrong diet can spark an attack, but I have read conflicting guidance on things to avoid - chicken being one on the list, which here in Thailand is sometimes difficult to avoid completely.

Many possibilities here with feedback from users (and some pretending to be) ... http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/gout.html

Apple Cider Vinegar with the 'Mother' and baking soda ranks highest. Please report back if something works for you.

Unbelievably good link MrP its the way you tell um
I told him that their was a cure for inflammation but the FDA wouldn't let people know about it because the pharmaceutical company was putting too much pressure on them that they banned in America. I told him that they let pets    use it though and I bought some for horses    and it was called DMSO. I ask him if he would like some on his finger and he said yes. The next day he said it took his pain away. We put more on and the next day it was half the size that it was."
health warning
WASH hands thoroughly before urinating or Mast**bat*** for obvious reasons

Sarge. You continue to flame in blatant breach of forum rules.

'Flaming or personal attacks are not allowed or tolerated. Should anyone use inappropriate language, start a personal attack, or engage in hate speech or extremism, they will be suspended or banned from all further discussions.'

The site was posted by 'winkie' 3 years ago on a previous gout thread. The example you mocked may be accurate (you have no way of knowing), ACV has worked for others for a variety of conditions and the disclaimer on health-related sites, as far as I know, is a legal requirement.

Please allow those who may be interested, to read suggestions without trying to disparage them.
