Seems you're OK to watch in Thailand Richard - it's just our Chinese brethren who ban Youtube, I then need to go through my UK VPN...... and it cannot be shown or recorded (after the event) in the UK for commercial reasons

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
If there's one thing we Brits know how to do its put on a bloody good show. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
I get 'The uploader has not made this video available in your country.
Sorry about that.'
I'm on a UK proxy server too

I've just flicked through the Thai Cable TV channels twice - apart from a bit of ladies weightlifting, the Olympic doesn't exist. I suppose some might think this as a plus for Cable TV

Pretty much all that's on here..... aside from re-runs of China winning the first Gold

Have managed to find a download for the full Opening Ceremony, so with a bit of luck tomorrow I can watch the full show without pauses, stutterings or Chinese commentary!!

I suspect the usual Corporate and VIP b*ll*cks, prime seating going to waste - can't say I'd be particularly interested in these sports myself, but countless others would. It truly is cr@p after the whole ticket sales fiasco (oversold etc..) - not to mention the price of the damn things.
London 2012 Olympics: Empty Seats On The Opening Day Prompts Investigation
An investigation has been launched by the London 2012 organisers Locog after large numbers of empty seats were evident in multiple sporting venues on the opening day of the Games.
Despite tickets for the events being sold out, television images revealed scores of empty seats at the swimming, dressage, volleyball and tennis.
Commentators noted the unfilled seats and members of the public who were unable to purchase tickets took to social media websites like Twitter to express their anger.
A spokesperson for Locog said: “We are aware that some venues have empty seats this morning. We believe the empty seats are in accredited seating areas, and we are in the process of finding out who should have been in the seats and why they weren’t there.”
It comes after Locog faced criticism for the number of seats being given to corporate sponsors, Olympic officials and VIP guests.
There were also fears last week that long queues and transport problems would leave many ticket holders unable to get to their seats in times to watch the main events.
James Pearce, BBC Olympics Correspondent wrote on Twitter this morning: "In Aquatics Centre and surprised to see hundreds of empty seats." Alastair Campbell followed stating that the "big gaps" at the various events "have to be explained."
Members of the public echoed such sentiments. Alex Batchelor wrote: "Can anyone explain why there are lots of empty seats? Tried repeatedly to get tickets without success."

I watched most of it. I was unpleasently surprised by the way it was politicized. I refer to the rather long and dragging promotion of the NHS. The discussion about the National Health Service is a domestic British matter and the Olympic Games should not be taken captive to a domestic political issue. I am all for the National Health Service, but it has no relevance to the opening of the Olympic Games. Shame on you.
PS: I just loved the scenes where "James Bond" accompanied Queen Elizabeth to the opening scenes. Great British humor and her Majesty took it in stride. Bravo!

IMHO the problem is the way they sold the tickets i.e. the public were allowed to bid for a ticket to watch the Olympics, but could not state sport, venue, date etc. Many people would have bought tickets in the wave of euphoria that swallowed up many, but now that it has come to the main event, they are probably thinking do I want to pay all of that money to travel to a congested venue to watch a sport that I have little interest in?

This is my 43rd official 720p H264 AVCHD-SC-SDH release. Enjoy the show Olympics fans.
I made this file as an MP4 instead of an MKV so that it will be playable with VLC player unlike MKV which is not normally compatible with VLC player and some BluRay Players. If you want it as an MKV file you need to convert it to mkv which is easy to do. I have included MKVtoolnix 2.2.0 (MKVmerge 2.2.0) with this release. Simply add the mp4 file to MKVmerge and in 5 minutes or so it will convert the mp4 to mkv without reeencoding the video. And then you can play it back on any BluRay player that is MKV compatible once you burn it to a DVD +R DL disc or load it onto a USB flash drive and connect it to the BluRay players USB port.
Enjoy the London Olympics Opening Ceremony show Olympics fans and thanks for downloading my London Olympics Opening Ceremony 2012 720p AVCHD-SC-SDH release.

It was about as political as Australia featuring a Kangaroo.
Unfortunately not, it was projected on that house thing in the middle and I was with some continentals here in a bar and nearly fell off the stool laughing!
